I love the Pocket PC. I used to be a palm user for the longest time and I do think Palm had it all togther but they didn't develop
the Multimedia part of the PDA fast enough. There are a lot of things you can accomplish with a pocket pc and thet are just getting faster. Current Pocket PC

Encoding Video:
Watching video on a PDA is really cool, like a video walkman. Below is how I encode video for my Pocket PC. It is a quick and dirty way of getting the most recent shows on your PDA for that long flight
you are taking or traffic time. Ingredients:
Windows XP (home or pro), Firewire-Analog bridge or analog video capture card, Windows Movie Maker, USB to CF or USB to SD.
Procedure:
Your computer needs to get video in first. This can be done with an All-In-Wonder card or a stand-alone card like an Osprey 101. It really doesn't matter if you use S-Video or composite because you
are going to compress it so much that you can't tell where it came from. You are also going to have to split the signal that goes to your TV from your cable box or dish system. This is really easy if you are
using S-Video cables or RCA Cables. The conectors can be found at your local Radio Shack. Make sure you canreach your computer from the TV signal and plug it into the back of the video input card. You will want
to open Windows Maker 2, this will do the job just fine. The Pocket PC can play many types of video but if you want quick and dirty, this is the way to do it. You would click File>Capture Video, it would then
bring up the Options. The best options is to save it to your local computer and under Movie Setting, click Show more choices, click "Other settings" and choose 'Video for Pocket PC'. This will save the movie to
your computer in the best format for performance on your PDA. The are other ways of doing this but this is the quick and dirty way. Then after the file is done capturing and rendering, you can drag it to your
PDA's SD card or CF card. The best way of doing this is by a USB to SD/CF dongle. It will be quicker than transfering straight to the PDA.
