Hackers against Certs? Yes, I mean stand up against the problem right now.
Every time you turn on a tech channel or business news show you hear about another layoff of tech workers. It isn't that easy to get a job nowadays. In fact, about eight of my friends are out of work, as am I. Now do
you really think that a newbie in the computer biz, that gets a certification or two, is helping the computer employees. Well let see. A computer person, right out of school with a cert. We can pay him a lot less than
Joe Schmoe who has 10 years of experience. Bye bye Joe. Now we have a tech that knows less but that's not what his cert says. The business community is very fooled by the certification process. They think it implies
education. It's just a memory test. The out of work people cannot simply lay out more money for getting certs. We have to find jobs. We shouldn't have to compete with people just getting out of schools with a piece of
paper. We shouldn't have to watch commercial after commercial about how everyone can be earning big money in the computer industry. It is not true. People do believe commercials and then it puts more of us out of work.
My friend AbbyNrml started working at a bar after she left her last job and I commented how it looks like we are becoming like Hollywood actors. We were working odd jobs waiting for that big break in computing. Computer
workers are a little different from most workers. We usually are hard-core about our work and our work is our hobby. We shouldn't have to work at McDonalds. So the project I have been cooking up is a new commercial. I
would like to gather all the out of work tech workers and make a new commercial to tell people that new workers aren't helping the industry. After all, who buys all the high tech computer stuff, computer workers. Now if
we don't have the budget to buy the tech toys, then there will be more layoffs. I would like to start a pool for budget to make a commercial. I would like out of work techies to get a hold of me a start this production.
If you are interested, please e-mail me a commecial@moloch.org and we will start the plan. Maybe we can start the tech revolution again.tommEE pickles |
