David Copperfield arrives at the Keep Memory Alive Foundation's 12th annual gala to benefit the Lou Ruvo Alzheimer's Institute at the MGM Grand Conference Center February 9, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada.Us Magazine
One of David Copperfield's magician's assistants was rushed to the hospital with a severe injury during the finale performance of his MGM Grand Las Vegas show Wednesday, a rep for Copperfield tells Usmagazine.com.
"During an illusion where David attempts to walk through the rotating blades of a 12-foot high industrial fan, the fan and its platform were being rotated by one of David's illusion technicians," the rep says. "Just prior to David himself walking through the fan, [the assistant] was accidentally pulled into the vortex of the moving fan blades, causing injury to his arm and face."

Ok, I got off my ass and started with the video blog again. Now that I am not running to a class and going out every night I have found myself with more energy. Maybe I need more veggies in my life.
I just made New Years Plans and I will be going to Las Vegas for the holiday. I haven't told anyone of the plans yet so whether or not I will be alone, who knows? I didn't get free accommodations because I didn't act in time for one hotel and the other hotel I am saving for Birthdaycon. Although I am only paying $190 for three nights over the New Years Holiday.
Speaking of Birthdaycon. I will be in Vegas. Plan on being in Vegas. No lounge singer this year but that doesn't mean no excitement. Bring pajamas, nice ones. It will be the best pajama jammy jam since House Party 2. The dates are Jan 9th - Jan 11th. Be there.
Tonight I am thinking about a slow night. Maybe some drinks at Magicopolis and some drinks at King's Head.
Tomorrow is the bar show and I have heard that Farrell Dillon will be performing as well a couple comics. It should be fun and the show starts at 10pm.
Cool news. Even though I hated taking the class and the exam, I passed. Not with flying colors but by three questions. If you read yesterday's blog, I was taking the ITIL exam. Now I have something to hang on the wall of the bathroom or my walk-in closet.
Wow, someone bonked me on the head with some anti-blogging fairy dust. I have been so tired and doing so many things. I haven't blogged since Thursday, so let me catch you up.
Friday came and after work I decided to catch up with Erik Tait at Magicopolis. The last time I saw him was Sunday night at the Magic Castle for one of his last shows. I had a couple beers and met another magician Joe who was performing at the Huntley that night. Erik was coming down with a cold so he didn't want to go out after the bar closed at Magicopolis. I decided to head over to King's Head.
At King's Head I bumped into Sqweak, who I never see, even though we live in the same building. He was hanging out with some game developers from New York. I kind of stole the conversation and ended up drinking with the group. It ended only with the bell being rung with the last call announcement and then our finishing our shots and drinks. We went to Joe's Pizza anf the boys from New York didn't appreciate the pizza as much as I thought they would. They said it wasn't New York pizza.
Saturday I went to Magicopolis for the Bar Show produced by Erik Tait. This week I was a little scared because he had two comedians and a juggler advertised. People might not want to see a juggler. Scott and I ended up going regardless to support the show. The comedy was good but what really killed was Scot Nery the juggler. Not only was he an extremely talented juggler but an awesome talented performer and crazy funny.
Scot and I went to King's Head to finish the night and there were a bunch of cute girls in there. I did some magic for Scott at the table we were sitting at and no one noticed. I was linking rubberbands in mid-air and no one cared. I didn't make a spectacle out of it but it was a little annoying. People, look at me, I am a superstar.
Sunday I didn't do anything because I had to be in a class at 8:30am on Monday for ITIL certification. Why am I doing it? That's a whole other story.
Monday I went to the ITIL class and what I learned within the first days, it's pretty much just common business practices. I don't know how well it will be implemented at my company. The material was very dry and I was at the edge of narcolepsy. The night followed with quiet relaxation and TV. I watched Chuck and it was low action but nice romantic plot line.
I did the same routine on Tuesday and avoided the coma. Even though I was to take the cert test on Wednesday, I decided to go to the Magic Castle to see Ed Alonzo and David Regal. I first got to see David Regal in the close up room and he was very good. I won't describe his act because he still has many shows left at the Castle. I did get to see David after his show and professed my fan-ship. Nice guy.
I saw Gary Morton in the Parlour of prestidigitation and it was good but after that I went to see Ed Alonzo in the Palace of Mystery and he was awesome. Every show was full but I got into the 11:30pm show, the last show of the night. It was so cool I got in. I saw Ed after the show too and I told him he was awesome and that I was happy for his award this year. I had like four drinks and I thought I was OK to drive but when I got home I didn't feel good about my decision.
I woke up too tired to do anything and my apartment was about 50 degrees. Very cold. I headed in to do some review stuff and take a practice test. I scored 20 out of 40 on the practice test. Yesterday I scored a 22 out of 40. The proctor came in and I took the scantron test and I felt ok about it. I only need 26 out of 40 to pass but we shall see in the upcoming days.
Oh, wait, I forgot all about The Biggest Loser. Last week I posted that Heba was kicked off with Ed and Ed pleaded for everyone to vote for Heba. I hated them both so I wanted to get Ed to get voted in. I posted it here. Well it turns out that Ed got 84% of the votes. The look on their faces on the live show was awesome. It was cool to see the weigh-ins. I was disappointed that Heba won the weigh-in for the people who got booted. She scored $100,000 but the real excitement was watching Michelle go up last and winning the Biggest Loser and receiving the $250,000. An awesome moment in fat television.
I received a new DVD in the mail today and I also received some others during the week. I am excited to add some new magic to my routine. I need more story based magic instead of shock-and-awe magic. We will see what happens.
Tonight I am going to head to the Hacker Drink Up at King's Head. The Drink Up has been moved from Rick's Tavern because it is cold and raining. It's 43 degrees right now. Either way, King's Head is larger and should be able to accommodate the group.
The Biggest Loser Finale is around the corner and both Heba and Ed (husband and wife) are below the line. Ed is trying to give up the chance for his wife. Vote for Ed to screw her and help Michelle win.
VOTE NOW ONLINE for who YOU WANT to be the third finalist at The Biggest Loser Finale on December 16th! Hurry and get your votes in before 3:00 PM ET/ Noon PT on Monday, December 15, 2008.
I didn't blog yesterday because I was exhausted. I did get contacted by my foster sister through Facebook the other day. If you don't know me well, you might now have known that through my teens I lived with a foster family. I knew them before I moved in with them and I was great friends with Felicia who was in the same grade as me.
Well our reunion is coming up and I chose to tag her in several photos I had from our late teens. She 1Up-ed me with a couple photos from the past. Enjoy my embarrasment.

I am currently in a car heading to Santacon. If you don't know what it is, you aint cool man. Anyway, I will get some video and post it later, depending how drunk I am. Merry Christmas Bar Patrons.
I got some stuff from Woot yesterday. My woot random crap for a $1 was 3 more ipod security cables and a camera carrying case. Not great but worth a buck. There is a new The Office and 30 Rock, I fell asleep during Kath and Kim. I might be getting old or just absent minded, I left an iron on for 3 days.
I am going to the Magic Castle tomorrow. Erik Tait is still performing in the close up room and I have my membership now, so I can just go whenever I want. There is no Bar Show at Magicopolis tomorrow but tomorrow is Santacon. I don't know if I will be there or not, I don't have my suit yet.
