I forgot that on Thursday that I had much more going on in my life than just watching Must See TV. I had a party to go to and then afterwards I was to head to UCB to catch Billy Merrit's Art of The Prank.
The party was preceded by a presentation for a project my coworkers and I have been working on. The presentation was started by the emcee Adam Corolla. He was funny and got the ball rolling. After hearing from heads of company and pitches, Carson Daly introduced a NY indie band The Bravery. The band played two songs and then it was open bar. I saw Danny Bonoduce walking around with his girlfriend and we got to talking. We posed for a picture and then I left. I had drank three drinks in an hour and I had to get up to UCB.
I didn't like driving after three drinks but sitting down in the theater for an hour or so would be good for me. I got to the theater at 8:00pm on the dot and valet'ed the car. I got in just as the show was starting. The show was ok, a lot of people liked it but I guess it was that maybe I previously saw most of the clips they showed.
I left the show, still thinking I didn't want to get pulled over. I drove down Highland and sure enough I was being followed by a cop. This lasted for about 10 minutes and then he turned after a cab that was in front of me that didn't use his signal when he made a right turn. Lucky me.
When I got home there was new episodes of The Office, 30 Rock and LOST. I watched LOST first since I didn't want to hear spoilers the next day.
LOST made some huge leaps. It kept me glued. It started with Ben in the middle of the desert with a winter parka on. Must be a time portal on the island. Then in the present time, the attack started on the island. Ben sacrifices his daughter, but didn't think she would be killed. Claire almost died in the attack. Ben called out the smoke monster and then we find out that the crash victims were not going to be rescued. Then the end we see that Ben and Charles Widmore know each other and are in a certain type or war. Weird episode, but awesome.
Friday was just a regular day. I thought of going to Fry's but didn't feel like fighting traffic. I tried calling Jimmy to see if he wanted to go to Richard Cheese on Saturday. He didn't return my calls. I called Deaddoll and unfortunately when she called me bacl she said she couldn't go afterall. I don't know if I will end up going.
I went to the Santa Monica mall, or what's left of it. They are tearing it down for an outdoor mall in Fall of 2009. Macys is still open though and I thought I would check for sneakers. I tried ordering sneakers on the web but that didn't work. First was through Dick's Sporting Goods but they were backordered. They still took my order, I canceled it right away. Why would I pay for quick shipping if they didn't have the product. Then I tried ordering from Journeys. I pushed submit, it said that there was a problem with my credit card. I checked it and submitted it again, same problem. I check my credit card account and I saw the authorizations. I called Journeys toll free number and they said they don't receive the order for 24-48 hours, what is this? The Stone Age? Its internet for Christ's sake.
I went to Macys to find me what I have trying to get. Chuck Taylors, Black. Of course Macys had them in my size and for a couple dollars cheaper. When I left the store and walked the promenade. I was upset when I saw there was a Journeys on the Promenade. How can they be on the Promenade and not have a working commerce website? Regardless, I got some new Chucks.
Today I have improv in the early afternoon and then I don't know what to do. If I can get a hold of Jimmy, maybe I will end up at Richard Cheese. I could very well just end up at Fry's buying some computer crap.
Finally, congrats to Emma Watson newest pictures for taking away five minutes of my life.
