I haven't blogged in a while. I have tried a couple times but I have been distracted.
Wednesday night I got back from NAB in Vegas. It
wasn't a wild and crazy trip this time. I ended walking a lot during the day to see all the exhibitors at the convention. This exhausted me a bit and I would just go to bed early. I did do some gambling Monday night when I got in but that was it. I played craps and didn't do so bad. I got my drink on but that was the only night. I didn't get in touch with
Jamiegrrrl or Bink but I don't think I would have been able to hang out with them either.
Thursday and Friday were just filled with work and getting back into the grind. My friend Jimmy got back together with his girlfriend which is pretty stupid, I thought. His girlfriend went through his
emai and AIM conversations when we was at my house one day.
SHe found a bunch of things on there about him visiting strip clubs. She kicked him out, we got some of his stuff out and then got drunk. Jimmy doesn't want to pay a bunch of money his own apartment so I guess he decided to move back in with his girlfriend. I don't know how he can live with a girl who doesn't trust him. Not to mention, she doesn't like me too much because of my interesting lifestyle. He came over on Thursday to pick up his cell phone charger and computer stuff but he said he had to go because of his girlfriend. It must be hard to find something to wear to work when she is wearing the pants.
Last night I didn't plan on anything to do. I called Jimmy up but he didn't seem like he didn't want to do anything. I picked up some food and then popped in "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof'", starring Tommy Lee Jones and Jessica
Lange, into the DVD player. I ended
up falling asleep during the movie. I awoke about 3:00 AM and I decided to hook my bedroom TV into my computer. I realized that there is so much content on the
internet that I thought that watching it on TV was the next step. I got to watch
Hulu (
http://hulu.com) on the TV and it was better than sitting at my desk. I wonder if Windows Media Center or
Playstation will ever add channels like
Hulu.
Today I had my
improv workshop. We have been studying
Tennessee Williams hence the inspiration to watch "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof". It is not the easiest form of
improv right now but we are just getting into it. One scene I thought started well was with me and Haley. We were in an old gymnasium and she was a student and I was an old janitor. She made me want to jump over a pummel horse and I thought the funnier approach would be to attempt but fail. I faked a fall but when I did, I think I sprained my wrist when I fell. It hurt a little when I got home but right now it feels a little more sore.
Tomorrow night I have plans to grab dinner with Mags and
Sqweak. It's been a while since I have seen them. I thought of
Sqweak when I was at NAB because I thought he would have been interested in it but then I remember he works for the video game industry instead of the broadcast industry. I didn't end up running into Chris N. out there either which was weird. Maybe all my friends are avoiding me.
I have been thinking a lot about NYC lately. Not only do I miss the comedy. I also miss
Alaina and Max. It's been six months since I have seen them. I have been hating all the tourists that come to the beach here and tie up traffic. Shopping isn't fun on the Promenade either due to the tourism. I was not aware of a new law in effect here in CA that went into effect on January 1, 2008. Seen driving west on Santa Monica Blvd. in Beverly Hills. Effective Jan 2008. No smoking allowed inside a vehicle when a Minor is with you,
that's stupid. If I do move back to New York, I don't know if I will be able to move back to Chelsea. I do not look forward to apartment hunting and walk-ups.
