Media Junkie
Last night in the movies, they showed a LOST trailer. When it first came on, someone in the audience went "Whoo!". I cannot wait to see it on Thursday but I cannot tell if I missed any clues last night since I didn't have my Tivo remote.
There is also a movie called 21 coming out from Sony Pictures. Its got Kevin Spacey, Laurence Fishburne and Jim Sturgess. It is about card counting MIT students and Vegas, it looks awesome. It will come out March 28th.
Let me start by saying Cloverfield was awesome. Congrats to T.J. Miller, that was a hell of a part to land and it was executed beautifully. I enjoyed the movie a bunch. *Spoiler Alert* The movie opens up like a found mini DV tape and just starts playing. The characters played pretty real from the intro to the party and interactions that happen at a party. The only thing that started to become weird was even at a party, was the constant video taping. There was no way around it though. When the tragic event happened to the city, it definitely had a September 11th kind of feel to it. It felt very authentic. That being said, the main monster was a little stretch of the imagination. When they finally showed the little baby monsters, it was better. I do have to say they the character Marlena did remind me of Liz but I think it was the hair and figure more than the bleeding from the eyes and then exploding. The movie ends pretty abruptly and the is no music, like an independent movie. It is a great movie altogether.
I caught 1 vs 100 because it was the Smartest Man Edition. He has a higher IQ than Einstein but the guy didn't know something iconic like the Who's on First routine from Abbott and Costello. The only time he appeared to win was when he asked for help. When he one without help, he would only knock out one or two people from the mob. Shows you, an IQ will get you into college but street knowledge might deliver you a $1,000,000 from Bob Saget.
After that I saw the latest Las Vegas and it was eh. They had a story about a cleaner, not one that cleans up bad murders from mob members but a guy who covers up when men have had fun at strip clubs. Are you kidding me? I don't know why this story existed and it was embarrassing to watch. They also had a small story on how they were trying to get a new bartender but it was only for a catalyst so that Mike and Piper could get together in the show. Bad writing and how annoying is the Piper character? Delinda's baby, where is it and why is she sill huge, what it going on? I have about given up on the show. I rather see a movie in place of Friday night Tivo space.
I am my way to my improv workshop and afterwards I have to find some booze for Karen's party. I will probably head straight down from improv since I get out at 6pm and the party starts around 8pm. Not really enough time to go some. I might be able to put some songs together for the party after class. I should also put some food in my belly too.
