Last night proved to be an interesting evening. I was first in line at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and while I was waiting I saw Matt Walsh eating at the restaurant next door. When he and his party went to leave, he came over to me. I asked if he remembered me and he said "of course". I was happy. Chris and friends showed up right after. We waited in line and then I saw Billy Merrit walking in. He said hello, I guessed he was going to perform.
Inside we waited for the myspace show, Chad Carter was setting up his laptop. When the crowd got in, the show started a couple minutes after that. They asked for a volunteer to have their myspace profile viewed. I raised my hand and because of my cat like reflexes, I was picked.
It was funny how Chad went through my myspace profile. We covered points like: my moving back and forth, my bad hair with Chuck Barris, my families divorce, zombie girl lover, T-shirt ninja... etc. Everyone performed awesome. I laughed hard. There was a cage match after with weed vs. shrooms vs. booze. I didn't have energy to stay and Chris and the gang were heading to Burger Bar at the Roosevelt.
Today I brought my car into the shop. I had a bunch of stuff I wanted to get checked out. The shop drove me home and I had a bunch of meetings today. They collided a bit but I think my points were brought across and I learned a bunch of other peoples views. I ended up getting called by the garage late in the afternoon an had to take a $40 cab to fetch my car. $650 later, it rides much better. When I was paying for it, the cashier said "I heard your car was fast", because they had to test drive it to check out the tightness in the gears and such, the comment made me smile.
Tonight I plan on getting some sleep. Other than that there is 30 Rock and The Office.
No, I am not talking about the website sillys. I am talking about the show at Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. I wasn't going to go but my friend Chris N sent a text that he was going and I figured what the heck.
I am kind of groggy and I think its because I haven't gotten my sleep on schedule. I planned on getting sleep tonight because the weekend is coming quick. Maybe I will have to wait till tomorrow to catch up on a great nights sleep.
Yesterday I had my improv workshop and it went ok. It was cool to see everyone. We only have one more time together until we perform. The format is new, so we are a little rough around the edges but it is fun when we are moving right along. Billy Merrit is a hell of a coach too.
Tomorrow I have to bring my car in to the shop. The gears feel a little tight and the performance has dropped a bit. I know I need new brakes and eventually I will paint it again. Like Phlip Wilson has said before, my care is a white elephant. Maybe its time for a new white elephant.
I was just reminded of something that someone in my improv workshop told me. There is a game called Desert Bus that Penn and Teller published for the Sega Genesis. You drive an empty bus from Tuscon to Las Vegas in real time. It takes 8 hours and there is no scenery except desert. You can't tape the button down because the bus swerves to the right. Once you get to Vegas, you earn a point, then you go back to Tucson. A 4 man comedy team called LoadingReadyRun did a 48 hour benefit for Penny Arcade's Child's Play.
First day back to work and it was ok, I wish I got more sleep last night. The drive sucked with all the traffic. I think I need a new clutch. Sucky. By the time I got in it was after 1am.
I got my monitoring system working and emailing me. Now I am being paged by systems that are not performing well, its not fun getting bugged all the time. I am sure I will have it under control very shortly.
I have been catching up on NBC's Chuck this evening. I have to say, it has grown on me. It is pretty funny and has some great character moments. There is really nothing on television that interest me on Mondays. I have been watching Brotherhood 2.0 and its my favorite vlog right now.
I have been so busy lately, it feels like I am busier than I was in NY. Maybe its the laundry I do myself now. Lets see, I left Thursday morning for Vegas, I come back on Sunday late. Then I am supposed to head down to San Diego on Friday for AbbyNrml's birthday party. Saturday I am hoping to hang with Jimmy. I haven't even seen my friend Deaddoll yet, I haven't hung out with Aron for a long time. I haven't seen a show at UCB since Rob Latham did Get Psyched. I haven't seen Kristi Macras and she lives in the same town blocks away, she hasn't returned my email either.
As my birthday gets closer, plans are starting to firm up. I tried to get another special guest but apparently the Red Elvises are out of town the next couple months. I do have Phil Shane for the party and this year I am also having a tattoo artist on location for Birthdaycon tattoos. If someone gets tommEE pickles tramp stamp, I will pay for that tab. I wouldn't miss this party, its going to be a blow out.
I didn't know what exactly the Kindle was because I really couldn't care less. I have a PDA/Phone and a laptop. I do not need to start buying a new form of book media and worring about do I have enough power to read through this Agatha Christie novel. I did see a post on LAist.com regarding Robert Scoble's opinion of it. Robert Scoble is a respected techie but I did find his vlog entertaining as well. I have included it here for your enjoyment.
I got out to Las Vegas about 4:30pm. There was no traffic except for the Cajon Pass. I got to Bink and Jamiegrrrl's house then we headed to Dive Bar for a Thanksgiving dinner. There weren't many people there but we got some good food and liquor. We decided to take off for a while and head to Larry's Villa, a dive-like strip club. Nothing was really happening there so after a bunch of video poker, we headed to Freemont Street. When we got to Freemont, Bink and I headed to get large frozen drinks. I got a yard (maybe two foot) long Pina Colada with a double shot of 151. This was a potent cold mistake. We gambled a bunch and then after that we headed to Glitter Gulch.
Inside The Gulch, the women were not your best looking ladies. They charge all of us a $20 cover but it included one drink. I still had my Pina Colada and I was diving in head first. I saw a real trashy blond across the bar and I was interested in getting a dance. She brought me back to some cheesy beaded curtain area and told me it was going to be $35 a song. I told her she was crazy and I walked away. I got some heckles from the stripper and her friends but I didn't care. I thought it was funny.
We left the Gulch and this is where things get fuzzy. I am told that we went back to the Dive Bar. I don't remember that. I am told by Nate and Jamiegrrrl, I had long conversations and didn't seem drunk. I don't remember that either. After the Dive Bar we supposedly went to Crowbar. I sort of remember playing a video bowling game with Bink. We then went to Tommy Rockers I think and the to Cheetahs. I think I remember the Cheetah's parking lot but I was feeling to sick and liquored up to go inside. I slept in Bink's truck.
The next day feeling hungover and sick. We slacked for a long time watching My Left Foot. I went to go check into the Mandalay Bay Hotel. The room was awesome with a nice plasma screen at the foot of the bed and a LCD in the bathroom. The bed was very comfy and I had an awesome strip view. At about 7pm, I met up again with Bink and Jamiegrrrl and we headed to House of Blues for Dinner. Dinner wasn't the best but at least we got food in out stomachs.
After we ate we headed to the Dive Bar to gather some troops. It was me, Nate,Bink and Jamiegrrrl at the start. We went to Tommy Rockers to watch some topless ghetto ladies and play some video poker. The ladies weren't the most beautiful but it was a good first stop.
We were met by Jason and we headed to Play It Again Sam's. Inside the girls were better than Tommy Rockers and we were closer to the stage. I got caught by the $10 cover but it wasn't worth arguing out of it. We were here for about an hour and then we headed out to Olympic Gardens.
When we got to Olympic Gardens, it was pretty busy. I guess its because it is technically on the strip. We walked in and they wanted $10 from everyone, including the locals. Nate tried talking to management but they wouldn't budge. We ended up leaving.
We then arrived at Cheetah's. We all got in for free and we were joined by Ryan in here. We all sat and drank. I didn't see any girls that excited me until I spotted this blond that looked petite and ditzy. I pointed at her to show our gang and Nate said he knew her, she comes into Dive Bar a bunch. When she was close to us, all of a sudden, she was confronted by one of the managers and was kicked out. She was forcibly removed from the club. We didn't see any more fun happening so we ended up leaving.
We got back to the Dive Bar and I couldn't stay alert enough to stick around I had one drink and then we called a cab.
Saturday I played some craps with Sqweak and Mags. It was ok. The only issue I had was that Mandalay Bay seems to have a rule that you have to play $25 minimum bet to be rated on craps. It was a little more than I wanted to wager at a $5 table but I do want to build my reputation at Mandalay Bay again, especially since I have been dropping my money in the wrong places.
Later in the evening, Sqweak and Mags had plans. I called Evil Matt and we hung out in Mandalay for a while. He wanted to the Silverton and play some free play. We decided to play some craps. We pretty much got spanked by lady luck. I got back to my hotel late and went to sleep.
Today I woke up fresh and decided to play some video poker after packing my car up to go home. Around 1pm I called Sqweak and we decided to get the buffet for lunch. Mags came down to meet us at the video poker and then played the Village People Party slots. Lunch was good and then we decided to split in different directions. I got on the road and hit an eight mile backup before Stateline. I have been listening to Desert Radio and they have been saying traffic is a mess. It is after 5:00 and traffic is bumper to bumper in several places.
I decided to pull over into Whiskey Petes and hang in the parking lot listening to the radio and updating Sqweak. I guess I won't be getting back into LA until late.
I don't mean to be posting a bunch of youtube videos on my blog but I ran into Wendy Ho's website I saw she created a video for one of my favorite songs. If you remember, I have said Wendy Ho reminds me of Deanna somethimes. She is a awesome talent and makes me laugh whenever I see her. Hey Wendy, if you are ever on the coast, give me a ring.
Yesterday I went to my improv workshop after work. I am always paranoid that I am not going to find parking when I drive up to the studio on Melrose but I have found parking right in front both times I have ventured up there. The workshop was fun and it was great exploring new things. Two more practices and then I perform at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. Pretty neat huh?
Today I got up for work on time. I have adjusted to waking for work without an alarm clock. It feels weird being able to do that. Is it a sign of getting old? Do I start getting dinner at 5pm with the Golden Girls?
Work was good and I expected to leave early but I did get into my work. I didn't think I was going to stay so long but I think there is some satisfaction in completing items. I also got to change the address of two magazines, I hate changing addresses.
I didn't plan on doing anything tonight. I am planning on driving out to Vegas in the morning. I figure I will not hit too much traffic it I drive out during the early hours. I guess I will find out. I am crashing at a friends house tomorrow night and then staying at the casinos for the weekend. I am hoping it's going to end up being a good weekend and not too crowded. I also hope that I will have JJ Feick looking over me. I remember him and I, gambling several years ago and the tables were crowded. He and I decided playing a $25 craps table. I had so much fun laughing and joking with him. When I moved to Las Vegas, months later, he IM'ed me to say he was going to be in the next day. The next day, JJ was found dead in his condo. He died of heart complications and I was shocked. He was such an fascinating person and I hope he knows I am thinking of him.
Tonight Mike Super was picked number one on the Phenomenon. He did perform a stunt that made me puzzled. He even took an advertisement out in the USA Today in the classifieds with his prediction. The other people on the show that performed were not anything very surprising. Mike Super seemed to be the only one who did something besides something that a school kid could do. Congrats to him and I hope to catch him someday.
Now, I have Kitchen Nightmares to watch and it rarely disappoints. I might have to take a run to get cigarettes and food. See ya in Vegas.
Well it turns out I will be going somewhere for Thanksgiving. My two friends have gotten back together. I was headed to Vegas anyway on Friday but now I will be a day earlier and happy because my plans were not deleted.
Last night I got to have dinner with Sqweak and Mags. I enjoyed my food so much I can still taste it. I always have the Hawaiian Rib Eye and it is always my favorite. It was eerie how foggy it has been getting near our places. It also got pretty cold last night. Cold enough I had to put on a sweatshirt. I know, its not as its cold as everywhere else.
I have my Improv workshop I a bit. I am not super excited about it because I feel a little groggy but I am sure I will be able to get through it. I want to get a bunch of sleep because I would like to get my work done early so I can hit up the LA Auto Show. I want to get a look at the Hyundai Genesis. It kind of resembles the Tiburon and it seems to be the talk of the show. I will get one when it comes out in 2009. To summarize, its over 300hp and rear wheel drive.
Thursday morning I am going to drive out to Vegas. I will be spending Thanksgiving with Bink and Jamiegrrrl. Friday night Sqweak and Mags will be arriving and I should be hanging out with them. Looks like it should be a fun time.
You sold out too quickly, I never had a chance. Now I am dependent on Fox 11 in Los Angeles to award me some tickets. I wonder if my friend Brandon got any for the New York show.
I got home safely last night. I was pretty tired after the drive. Traffic really sucked though and it took me five hours to get home. I didn't see anyone Sunday, I just woke up, grabbed some buffet food, and left the Sahara.
I caught the premiere of the second season of Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job. It was good, I saw this weeks Las Vegas after I got home from the same. It sucked, two parter also. I hope everyone dies on the show and they end it. Deal or No Deal was lame. The 100 Million game was equivalent to a scratch of ticket. About as entertaining as watching me play Powerball.
I planned going to Las Vegas this upcoming weekend but my plans might change. I have to see if my friends are going to be free or not. If I don't come into Las Vegas maybe Jimmy will want to do something. I just don't want to spend Thanksgiving by myself. I guess I will ask what Sqweak is doing with Mags.
I am so ready to go home. Yesterday was fun and entertaining. I ended up heading to Ballys yesterday afternoon to go see if James was working. I was typing my blog while I was riding the monorail and this short philipine looking girl asked me if my phone was a Wing. I said yeah and we exchanged words back and forth. I noticed she had a time and weather plug-in on her phone, which was also a wing. She asked if I wanted to get it and she would email me the info. I said no. Am I stupid? Of course she knew it was a Wing, she had one. She offered to contact me, I am stupid.
I got to Ballys and got to the bar while James was just getting off his shift. We talked a bit and he was heading to a gig at Planet Hollywood Casino. Apparently Planet Hollywood was having their grand opening. Friday Bruce Willis was there, yesterday Barbara Straistand. James and I said we would try to get together next weekend.
I headed to the Hilton to meet Jackalope, Pinguino, Chris, Will, Queeg, Kalahar and Jim. We met at Quarks restaurant. I guess while we were waiting Chris and Will met some canadian girls and asked them to join us. I didn't catch the girls names but they were cute. That is until the blond girl remarked how people say she looks like Ben Seaver from Growing Pains. After she said that, she didn't look so cute. The other girl was very punk like. Dyed hair, stretched ear lobes and tatoos everywhere. She was pretty cool but nutty.
Dinner raged on and after the $500 bill, everyone decided to head to Ellis Island for Karaoke. Chris remarked how he was a karaoke king and he would show us all up. By this time, the Ben Seaver chick is a touch drunk and she with Chris are making out like the ship was going down. We got into the karaoke place and got our drinks. Chris was one of the first to sing. It was so funny of a performance, I took some video but I don't know how it is. The Ben Seaver chick is fondling the karoke DJ and she dances on the stage while other people are singing. It was like a car wreck, with clown cars. Not even and hour into the karaoke and the Ben Seaver chick is now making out with more than one guy in the bar, five guys in the bar.
After all of this, the girl gets security to come in and I think she was asked to leave. I think the gang were trying to get the girls to go back to the Alexis Park Hotel. I didn't want to go because of the sausage fest about to take place but the Alxis Park is like a dead end with nothing but the Hard Rock near by. I ended walking over to Ballys and I got a call from Evil Matt. Matt met me at Ballys and then we headed to the Silverton. We did some gambling there and hung out for a bit in some uncomfortable chairs.
Today I am so ready to leave. I am going to Bink and say good bye. I don't think I will come back to the Sahara. The suite wasn't all that and the shower kept of going hot to cold a bunch. The gaming sucks here anyway. Time to stay or play at a different hotel. Birthdaycon is coming, don't forget to reserve rooms.
Wow, its been a long time since I drank like that. I drove out to Las Vegas after work. Traffic sucked pretty back at the beginning of the 15. I got in around 9pm and I met up with Jackalope and a bunch of ninjas at the Artisan. I didn't know what to expect of the Artisan but it was pretty cool. It was very lounge like and it felt cosy. The drinks were pretty reasonable at $7 for a Citron and 7up. I didn't drink much there but I enjoyed the time I Bink and Jamiegrrrl picked me up at the Artisan and we headed to Dive Bar.
At the Dive Bar I got to see all the gang. I saw Dave and his wife and the rest of the Dive Bar staff. I talked with Nate and set the date for Birthdaycon. He apologized for the mixup with Faster Pussycat and said we will straighten out the booking this year.I ended up drinking several drinks and a shot. I claimed to be smart and played the trivia game with Bink and Jamiegrrrl. I appear not to be so smart.
I went back to the Sahara after the Dive Bar and I sould have gone to bed. I dove into craps last night and I almost took out some markers. Why would I do it at the Sahara. It would be better to gamble like that at a better casino.
Today I woke up with a screaming headache. I called Evil Matt and made plans with him tonight. We won't do anything until later so I decided to take the monorail to Ballys and see if I can run into James. I haven't seen him in ages.
I am sitting here getting my oil changed. I want to make sure it is ok before I drive another long distance. I am ready to head out to Vegas and I am kind of excited. Its been a while since I have driven there for entertainment.
Last night was productive, I got a bunch of crap out of my car that I needed to remove. I ran into Mags while I was in the laundry room. Unfortunately Sqweak and her didn't want to go out to dinner so I walked to Fatburger to get some food. I sat and watched 30 Rock and it was great. The Office didn't disappoint either.
Work was good today with a free lunch and a band performance by Orphan Joe. I wasn't paying too much attention to the band because some thing went wrong with a load balancer and I had to fix the issue. I was also setting up some monitoring. I sat though some meeting the last couple days, I am looking forward to some fun.
Being that I am in an improv workshop learning documentary form, I am watching a bunch of documentaries. Right now I am watching "Walmart: The Hight Cost of Low Prices". It's as you would guess, it's an anti-Walmart view. Its a lot of view of people complaining about how they don't get paid enough or they didn't get health care. Shit, when I had no money, I entered into the military. When I didn't have skills I needed, I read books and I went from job to job. I went to college for fashion photography, I don't do that for a living. I tried to do other things. It's the effort I put forward, it's not depending on a company to affect my life for the better or worse. Walmart survives because people shop there, if they didn't shop there, they wouldn't survive. The anti-walmart view is not as powerful as low prices. Is there a documentary out there how AMF is buying all the local bowling hours?
I watched Phenomenon last night and it didn't impress me yet again. Too much friggin mentalism. Criss Angel and Uri Gellar did more than mentalism in their careers. Eran Raven makes me sick with his lack of ability to build up the drama or excitement. Guy Bavli did a cool spoon bending but the stop sign was over the top. Mike Super entertains be and did perform the best last night. Angela Funovits was ok but she uses many things that are so common to magicians and stores like Tannen's. I watched Kitchen Nightmare too and I enjoyed it much better.
Tonight TV should be awesome with a new 30 Rock and The Office. I didn't get home till late last night so I didn't get to do much cleaning or organizing. I am leaving for Vegas right after work so I want to complete some tasks tonight.
Even though Thursday is Must See TV, Wednesday feels kind of good. Yesterdays weather couldn't have been better, it was 86 when I left forlunch.
Last night it was great seeing Billy Merrit. He is one of my favorite improv coached. I am studying the documentary format with him. The workshop was good for the most part, I just felt a litty sloppy since its been a while.
Today the temperature is awesome again its 82 degrees. I feel so blessed with this weather.the girls are wearing great sexy clothing and I like driving with the windows down and the sunroof open.
Tonight I haven't made any spedial plans yet. Its usually a good TV night with Phenomenon to make fun of and Kitchen Nightmares ends up being entertaining. I am trying to get myself a little organized since I won't be home for yet another weekend. I am dying to get a weekend free so I can do some stuff around the home and slack a bit. This weekend and next weekend I will be in Vegas. After that, probably a lot of filming with Jimmy. Ugh
Not really, its just the song I am listening to. I am still a little under the weather but when I got home I was relieved. My bed feels so cosy and I am glad to be playing with my desktop computer again. I did see that my two flat screen monitors had arrived. I hooked them up but I couldn't get the 1440 x 900 resolution working on both monitors with my current video.
I went to Fry's yesterday to pick up a new video card for the two monitors and I am almost 100% content with my set up. I get one of the screens blanking once in a while. I am going to conduct some tests. I hope its a simple fix, I would hate to return a monitor. I guess I will get to do some filming. I think I will bring my video equipment to Vegas this weekend and do some filming for my show.
I was putting plans up for my birthdaycon which is less than 60 days away. I did see when I was in the Mandalay Bay with Jamiegrrl about a month ago, they removed the Island Lounge and put a fancy pants lounge called Eyecandy Lounge. It could be a fun place to hang but it is non-smoking. I don't think we would last there long. I am going to use the time in Vegas when I am hanging with Jackalope to look for a new lounge.
Tonight I have my workshop with Billy Merritt. It should be fun, I hope. I am kind of in the mood to slack tonight and hang out at home but I haven't been in the improv thing for almost two months. Hope I remember to bring that bag of learnin' that Charlie, Curtis, Shannon, Billy, Christina, and Anthony gave me.
It looks like nothing is really on TV. Cavemen is on but I would probably pick Biggest Loser over that one. Released on DVD this week: Shrek III, I never lasted through one of these. Oceans Thirteen, being a Vegas fan I might watch it. I didn't get through Oceans Twelve.
I am sitting in the airport waiting for my departure. I am extremely tired because I decided to stay awake rather than trying to sleep early. I have also been sick so right now I feel like doodie.
I saw a couple of movies today during my sickness. I caught Wicker Man and another called Idiocracy. To tell you the truth, it was easier to follow the story of Idiocracy. Idiocracy is a sucky movie. I don't know why Luke Wilson was in it. Especially since he did my Super Ex-Girlfriend around the same time. Wicker Man was stupid and really just ended up confusing me several times. I think I will put my movie review of Wicker Man up on You Tube or Google Video soon.
Its about 33 degrees in New York City, I can't wait to get back home. It would have been nice to hang out with Christina Gausas and Ellie Kemper during my time in the city but flu season put a dent in those plans. I checked an hour or so ago and saw that it was like 55 degrees back home.
This trip only was work productive, the fun stuff got all messed. I did get to see Vicki but... I didn't get to see Max, Alaina, Christina, Ellie, Danny or Phlip. I forgot my iPod. I didn't get any pictures this weekend. I did get work stuff done while I was sick. On another positive note, I have not had a cigarette in five days. Do I think I can quit, probably not, but just fun to say I haven't needed a cigarette in a while.
Kevin Mitnick was on America's Most Wanted in a segment about cyber crime. The investigative reporter was doing a piece on how criminals could exploit the public. Kevin was shown in a clip doing talks on redirecting pin numbers to a database and stuff like that but then his info was retarded or known tricks. One thing he showed was Caller ID spoofing which isn't something he created and then he was asked for help with a real criminal. They prompted it with, help us find this fugitive. Kevin Mitnick just did a regular ID lookup you can do on many people searches. Of course he didn't help the folks at America's Most Wanted arrive any closer to the capture.
Its 60 days till tommEE pickles Birthdaycon. Make sure you mark that down. Phil Shane is booked this year and I will be posting more details soon. Tuesday this week I have my Improv workshop with Billy Merrit and I am excited to get back on stage. This weekend I might meet up with Jackalope in Vegas. The weekend after is Thanksgiving and I will be with Bink, Jamiegrrrl and her kids.
I fly out soon, wish me well and I hope to see everyone when I get healthy.
Not cool that I have been in New York City for three days and I have done nothing but sit inside because I am sick. I didn't feel it so much when I got in but yesterday it started to kick in. I took airborne and tylonal, but nothing has helped. I have been meaning to go out with Christina and Ellie but I am not sure if it will haappen. I am also wondering if Alaina and Max are going to show up at Vicki's show tomorrow.
I am wishing I was home because being sick in a friends home or hotel sucks. Working isn't fun either, I had to go to our building in Times Square to our other building in Columbus Circle. If that doesn't put anyone out of happiness, it is raining while the temperature feels like the 40's. Yuck.
Last night was spent watching Earl, Scrubs, 30 Rock and The Office. Earl I can live without, The Office was ok. 30 started ok but lost me toward the end. I did get to catch Vicki's movie short Kult and it was really put together well. I didn't like the picture they used of me 100% but the video was great. I thought about copying it but its too large for my thumb drive.
Hopefully I feel better tomorrow and I can go out. I guess I am staying in tonight and watching Las Vegas.
Yesterday my plane touched down ok and the flight was ok. I didn't get through Bright Lights, Big City but it was nice having the option.
I got to Vicki's house in the late afternoon.she already started dinner and it was enjoyable. We watched Phenomenon, which was a disappointment and then we watched Kitchen Nightmares. I was supposed to go out with Christina but she was sick.
Today it is cold. The temperature is in the 40's and kind of a shock to me. Thank god I thought properly and brought jackets and long sleeve clothing. I am on my way to work right now, a fun day in the City.
Tonight I am possibly going out with Christina to a comedy writers show and maybe Danny's show later.
I am waiting for my flight out of Los Angeles. Like always I am nervous about flying but its just I like to be in control and even though I have flown a million times, I am still not conditioned. I should be leaving LA at 7am and arriving at 3:15pm. My plan is to try to hit up work before calling Vicki and following my plans tonight.
I brought two movies with me since the TV sucks usually during this time and I didn't have such a good time with the entertainment system on the last flight. I did get a new laptop for work which I have been configuring the last couple of days. I can say I am not a real fan of Vista and IE7. I ran into problems with Virtual Server, it will not allow you to open other websites on the tabs. You have to open another browser, sucky. The movies haven't been tested on my system but its sure to me a cinematic explosion. I brought Bright Lights, Big City starring Michael J. Fox and I brought If Lucy Fell with Sarah Jessica Parker and Eric Schaffer. Both movies I have seen but not for a while. I am a TV/DVD junkie so I need something the beaten rack.
I did see when I logged into facebook today, Ben Whitehouse posted an event about the Upright Citizens Brigade will be at the SoHo Apple Store. They are promoting the Second Season of the Upright Citizens Brigade on iTunes. I am not a fan of the iTunes video stuff because it is a little expensive compared to the versitilibilty of DVD media.
Speaking of media, I blogged about Criss Angel last week and the so-called fight that broke out live on the show. This morning I was on YouTube and saw there is response to Criss Angel's insult. I also saw someone posted the uncensored video of the episode of Phenomenon that aired. There was nothing that needed to be censored. Nothing offensive was said, I never heard anything considered a curse word. I think NBC staged this. If you have been watching NBC, they have been plugging the show using the incident. They are saying 'Anything can happen on live TV'. Give me a break, if they are plugging it and a video response is only coming out now, it was staged. We would have seen these guys all over the tabloids. They stories I found when it happened were all on NBC and MSNBC. Wow, a conspiracy like the JFK grassy knoll. Show me the second camera man NBC.
I probably will not see Phenomenon tonight because I am going to see Big Black Car with Christina. I am PVR'ing Phenomenon but I don't have my Slingbox hooked up and I haven't set the Tivo up in the bedroom. I guess if I am really needing a fix, I will just got to NBC's site since they rebroadcast everything on they web. Don't get mad writers guild.
Lastly, I received a copy of Sense magazine this morning, it was slipped under my door at my building. Funny, there more I try to make my house more like a home, something happens to make it more like a hotel. I think I saw video footage of the magazine and its going to be like a Maxim like publication. Eh, something to read on my flight. 20 minutes till I am up in the sky, wish me a safe flight. Awesome Blossom.
One two... buckle my shoe, three four... step out the door, five six... pack the clothes she picks, seven eight... don't be late, nine ten... back in New York again. Ok, that was gay. I don't have shoes that buckle, no one picks out my clothes but me. I will be in New York tomorrow. I am going to see Ellie in Big Black Car at the Pit with Christina. Thursday is dedicated to my good friend Danny and his show "On the Rocks" at the Duplex. Friday is somewhat open to chance, Saturday I will be at "Let the Laughs Out" at the Time Out Lounge with Vicki.
It hasn't even been a month since I have been gone but it does seem like a while. I didn't check the weather because if it's worse that the weather here today, I don't want to know. It is just foggy and chilly, about 66 degrees. I know, that's not bad but it puts me in a mood. I will be happy to touch base with all my New York compadres.
Last night I watched Chuck on NBC. TV has been sucking so much in my opinion I am settling for shows like Chuck. It has grown on me and it has the ability to keep me entertained for an hour. After that I couldn't find anything to watch so I ended up playing on the computer. I can isolate myself in my bedroom pretty easy in this apartment. I think it is because I have so much room. When Jimmy was over the other day he told me my place felt empty. It's because I have just enough stuff to fill a NYC apartment in Chelsea, not a one bedroom in Los Angeles.
In the other side of my brain, I have put up a new UCBW clip onto You Tube, I have more, I just have to find the tapes. The video stuff isn't up to 100% workable yet since I am trying to rearrange everything in the apartment. I am hoping to have stuff of me up really soon. Unfortunately I don't think I am bringing video equipment with me since to New York, I am trying to keep it light.
I am a sucker to watch practically anything but its Saturday night/Sunday Morning and I don't know if the clocks have changed yet. I am watching 'Because I Said So' and it is pretty annoying movie. I don't think Diane Keaton and Mandy Moore are a great combo. I would watching something else but Mandy Moore is attractive and the only free movie on demand that is appetizing is 'On Golden Pond'.
The weekend is about over but it was fun. On Friday I went to dinner with Sqweak and Mags. Sqweak told me about Rock Band, a competing software title to Guitar Hero.
Saturday I wanted to get out of the house so I headed to get some food. I headed to Best Buy after I ate and I saw the Rock Band setup at Best Buy. There was a huge stage, sound gear and a bunch of people playing Rock Band, as if they were a rock band. It was like watching Karaoke for four people. I only saw one setup of it inside but I heard that it is going to sell for $300. It doesn't look like something I would buy, I haven't even bought a Playstation 3 or X-Box because I don't feel like its worth that much money to me. I like my Playstation 2 and my Guitar Hero.
Jimmy called me and I headed over to his place. We played around with some video editing and stuff. I needed some stuff for my next video so we headed to Home Depot and had a great conversation with a salesman about a 12 foot by 8 foot Santa area rug, or is it a area Santa rug? Anyway, after the Depot we went on a quest for other items and then later back to my house where we played Guitar Hero. We did find something fun to do, to take my bright video lights and point them out the window at the hotel rooms next door. We didn't end up doing it, I live here.
So now its Sunday and since a lot of items change their time automatically, I don't know if its really the right time on my on my phone. I think I am going to shoot some funny stuff tonight. I think Jimmy and I are going to think of something fun to put on tape.
Wednesday I am in New York and I will be flying back to LA on Sunday morning. Wednesday I am hanging with Christina, going to Danny's show on Thursday and Saturday I will be going to Vicki's show.
Wednesday night I watched Phenomenon. It upset me at first to hear Criss Angel commenting on the female mentalist "Finally women are becoming mentalists and not being shoved in to boxes". Is Criss too ignorant to remember magicians like Melinda or any of the female magicians from the 90's? There was an annual show with John Ridder that called Worlds Greatest Magic on ABC. Disapointing comments.
What happened later was just funny. A person who was supposed to be able to talk to the dead, did a routine and finished with pleasing results. Uri Gellar gave some good comments. Criss Angel said the act was comical. He asked for the "psychic" to tell Criss what he held in some envelopes Criss held. Criss offered a million dollars for the task. The challenge turned into an argument then turned into pushing and shoving. They were finall pulled apart.
Stephen Colbert was denied his bid to run for president. I don't think it would effect the presidental race but I would have liked to see how the results were effected.
Today is Friday and I didn't make any plans yet. Maybe I will try to make it to the 2600 thing tonight. I don't know who goes to Phillipes anymmore but maybe I will bump into someone.
