Happy Halloween

Wow, so much happens here so fast and ends up keeping me very busy. When we last left off, I was headed in to see Saw IV. Well, I have to tell you, the movie was pretty sucky. It had a bunch of story lines that didn't seem to work. You didn't care about the characters at all. The story was confusing also. I wouldn't recommend it and I would keep just Saw I through III in your DVD library.

I was excited for Halloween. I ordered a costume on the internet on Sunday to wear to work today. I wore an Elvis jumpsuit and I had my Phil Shane sunglasses. I also had an Elvis mask to go with my outfit but I would wear the sunglasses when I worked or drove because of the vision interference. The costume was definitely noted at the office. Some of the girls took pictures with me, they we dressed as prisoners.

It turns out that I will be visiting New York very soon. I will be in town Wednesday next week and staying till Sunday morning. I have to do some business stuff but I hope to see some improv and grab some drinks with my close friends. I hadn't figure where I am staying but I think I will have to couch surf one night or so.

I am watching Phenomenon right now and it looks like its going to be two hours long and knowing how it was last week. So far the only thing that entertained me was an effect that Ehud Segev performed that anyone can perform but it was the only lively performance so far. Maybe the show sucks because of the Writers Guild, just kidding.

The only other thing that I thought was entertaining this weekend was I went to Fry's to get some speaker wire and speaker mounts for the surround sound speakers. I saw that the Guitar Hero display was setup. A 8 or 9 year old boy was checking it out and I saw there was a guitar available. I said I would play with him. When I won, and not by much, I rubbed it in hard core like I just beat my nemesis.

I think I am going on a Del Taco hunt.

I am so happy

Wednesday night, I was watching my TV and my HD PVR was ready to record Northern Exposure. I was tuned to Showtime watching Hunt for Red October and then I noticed my PVR was recording but hadn't switched channels at the appropriate time. I decided to check out my recorded programs and I saw that my PVR is a dual channel recorder. It was recording Northern Exposure while I was watching live TV. That is awesome.

I did watch Phenomenon on NBC and I have to say I was un-impressed. The show is like an American Idol show but the judges Chris Angel and Uri Gellar. The mentalism that they tried during the intermission was pathetic. They only had 4 magicians perform and two get booted next week by viewer votes. There are only 10 performers so this show probably will not have so much variety. This is a one season show.

This week I had some work to do for Christina Gausas and Ellie Kemper. It was just mocking up myspace pages and some other stuff. I believe they perform at 8pm on Monday at Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York.

I went to the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday. I went to meet Rob Latham there to film his show Get Psyched!. After the show Rob, Nate Shelkey, Andeera and I went to Birds to meet with Billy Merritt. We were waiting for Billy Merritt and all of a sudden Rachael Mason popped out of a car, it was cool to have so many New York souls in one spot.

Tonight I plan on seeing Saw IV. I don't know if any of my friends are fans of Saw in the Los Angeles area so I am going to the movie by myself.

On the geek/nerd side, talking to Christina today gave me some ideas for more video sketches. It all involves sill computer antics. I might have to go pantless just for an inside joke.

Finding food here is harder than New York

I keep on smiling out here. I finally got my cable and internet installed yesterday. I was happy with the final install but it took a while to get the HDTV to list shows and such, the MOXI box wasn't getting a DHCP address from the central office. I did however learn the key combos to get into the MOXI box though. I got an HDTV PVR box out in my living room and I got a regular cable box installed in the bedroom. The only complaint I have besides nothing being on TV, is that there is a lot of things that aren't included with the standard package in Los Angeles. It's different than NYC Time Warner cable.

I have been working pretty diligently . I would like to tell you what I am working on but it's confidential. My car has been handling fine. The weather here is dreamy. Unfortunately, there are those fires going around.

A funny thing, I was watching The Hills with Jamiegrrl and Jay when I stopped over in Las Vegas. At least I think it was The Hills. They were filming in this restaurant called Ketchup. We didn't know it was real or not until we looked it up. I got to eat there two nights ago with some co-workers. It was good, and the waitresses are f*#$king hot!

Annienonymous (I won't put your real names here), I have been reminded of you a bunch. I pass by Lawry's and I am also reminded of Tony Romas. I was a jerk some of the time I know realize but feh, I won't go on with that train of thought. This town rocks, I am having a fantastic time.

I bought Guitar Hero II the other day and I do have to say it is pretty difficult when you get to the fourth level and I am playing it on the Easy level. I spent like $650 in Fry's on Saturday night. I went into the store when it was daylight and ended up leaving when it was dark out. I bought an AMD 64bit processor and an Asus motherboard, a SATA drive, a power supply and 2GB of RAM. That wasn't all either, I bought a wifi antenna, The Office Season 3, and Bright Lights, Big City. Enough to keep me busy. Guitar Hero is fun.

I have some work to do for Christina Gausus and Ellie Kemper this week. Nothing like slaving for funny and pretty ladies. I also signed up for a workshop with Billy Merritt that starts soon. Things are awesome out here except finding fast food in Beverly.

Made it to the weekend

Wow, first week in this city has been awesome. My car is happy, the weather is great and I am getting to do some stuff I didn't get to do before. The most entertaining thing that I experienced this week was the Halloween Haunt at Knott's Scary Farm. I went with Jimmy, Kris, Cheryl and Aron. I hate haunted houses and roller coasters normall but I had a awesome time. I feel I want to go back to enjoy it more.

Work is good and I do find the commute easy. The only thing that is a bummber is the marine layer because I live at the beach. It makes it look over cast for a bit in the morning but it burns off before noon. I am still trying to setup stuff after moving. I setup the DVD player and some of my speakers last night because Bink and Jamiegrrrl came over last night to hang out and watch movies.

I signed up for another workshop at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater under Billy Merritt but I am still waiting for confirmation. Cable and Internet should be here Tuesday. Lastly I think I need to treat my car to a tune up supreme because it was been beaten pretty well with all the driving.

Pickle Pad 2007 has been founded

Well the story goes like this. Friday morning I woke early, got El_Jefe up and went to meet Crazysage for breakfast. It was nice catching up over a meal. We said our good-byes and I headed out for the rest of the United States.

Colorado is pretty boring until you get to Vail and Aspen. When I arrived out that far, I decided to call Utah State DMV because I remember I had a outstanding ticket. I was worried if I got caught speeding, what would happen. Utah DMV said they had nothing and they said to check NY DMV. I called and found nothing. The ticket has disappeared.

Utah was very beautiful land. Desert and such but very colorful rock and cool looking canyons. It started getting dark one I was approaching Arizona which sucks because the roads are very winding and surrounded by rocks and animals.

I got into Vegas about 8:30pm (local time) and I decided to go to Bally's. Not because I like playing there but I know where the bathroom is once I have my car parked. I needed to burn some time since Jamiegrrrl wasn't going to be home for a couple of hours. I saw Donny, one of the bartender, at work. We chatted as I drank Pepsi's. I don't drink and drive anymore.

I got to Jamiegrrrl's about 11:30pm and them we headed out to Dive Bar. Dive Bar was dead and I did see Trika but she was on her way out. We left there to see Angry Dave at House of Blues. We got to the Mandalay Bay and some urbanite ass almost ran us over. When I yelled to slow down in the parking lot. He got out of the car and wanted to fight me over it. I walked away but Jamiegrrrl thought I was going to get her shot.

We finally got inside the House of Blues with just a little confusion about the list. When we went to get our drinks the bartender gave us first round free and then the second round for $2 a drink. There was an 80's cover band playing but didn't hold our attention long. We started playing with the crowd by hitting on them for fun and making jokes and their expense.

We left the House of Blues and headed to a pub to play video poker. We drank a bunch and headed to Del Taco. I spent the night and the next day we got dinner from Fatburger. I left about 9:45pm on Saturday night and headed to Jimmy's house in Los Angeles. We sat outside his house after I got there and caught up. I slept on the couch.

I was woken up by the sounds of a child in the morning. In my sleepy daze I saw the kid and it looked like Eddie (Jamiegrrrl's son). I called out to him but then woke out of my daze and remembered where I was. I left there about noon to get the keys and stuff to my apartment. Once in my apartment, I showered and then search for wifi for internet access. I learned it will take ten days to get cable and internet. I did have forwarded mail waiting for me and the beach is right in my reach.

I went to work yesterday and my seat was moved since I wasn't there last week. We are making due and hopefully I will be up and running soon. I am using my own laptop since my hasn't arrived yet, I got email yesterday, good news.

Today the movers come and it is very exciting to get real furniture in this apartment, instead of the airbed I have been sleeping on. Pictures will be posted soon and this weekend I am heading to Hollywood to see the Dan Band with Jamiegrrrl and Bink, you are welcome to join us.

Rolling Rolling Rolling, keep them doggies rolling

I haven't been able to blog because of other things going on but here is some stuff now.

Monday I headed out towards St. Louis. I tried to call my buddy El_Jefe because he has a house in St. Louis and he said I could probably crash there. He didn't answer the phone and I continued on, towards Tulsa.

When he did call me back, he asked why I was headed toward Oklahoma. I pulled over to check the GPS and re-entered his address. Apparently I was headed to the wrong address, instead of heading to Denver, I was on my way to an address is New Mexico. It was good that he called. It was another 400 miles to Kansas City, I figured to stop there for the night.

On the way to Kansas City, I saw signs for a casino in Boomville, MO. I stopped in this one horse town to visit the casino. Entering the casino, I was stopped by an employee and asked for my ID. I showed it to him and then walked passed. He then said, do you have a players card? I said I didn't want one. He said it was mandatory. I found out after that, it is state law that no one is to gamble more than $500 in two hours, hence the players card. I wondered who got comped rooms in this hotel.

When I reached Kansas City, I had drove for 13 hours and did 1000 miles. I stopped at a Clarion hotel. It was under construction and it wasn't too swank for the giant towers. The rooms were all non smoking and it smelled like mildew. I slept in my clothes.

In the morning I crossed over in Kansas and that is a long boring state. I saw nothing but Christian billboards and truck stops. As I was cruising through the state, I got stopped by a cop. I was going just a couple of miles over the 70MPH speed limit. He got me out of my car, patted me down and the searched my car. He found my old Nevada plates and called them in. After all this, he let me go and reminded me about the speed limit.

I got to Denver after 600 miles of driving and have been hanging with El_Jefe. Tuesday night we went to Netherworld and hung with Ed, Mar, Ritchie and Lizzie. We drank and played some poker, it was fun.

I was supposed to have El_Jefe as my driving partner for my drive to Los Angeles but he dropped out. I was worried because my drive was going to go around Nevada since I don't have driving privileges there. I decided to call up Nevada DMV to see what I would have to do to drive through the state. Good news, it would only require me writing a statement to the DMV and $113. As soon as they receive it, I am set. I fedex'ed it this morning. I should be in Las Vegas tomorrow night.

Rounding up the horses

I am ready to head out again. I stayed at a Hampton Inn last night and it wasn't bad for the $107 rate. It came with free internet, Cartoon Network and had a soda machine on the floor with $.75 sodas. It was clean so I didn't fear sleeping in this hotel. The roads look like Columbus Day didn't make everyone stay home so I might hit traffic this morning. I am a the border of West Virginia and still have something like 1200 miles to go. Nothing really on TV tonight that I totally like. If I was home I would probably watch Chuck but it's not all that yet. Hopefully I will not be in anymore deer crossing area, that is some scary shit in my lightweight car.

Feels like a million miles but I didn't go that far

First off, last night was great. Thanks to Vicki, I had my comedy roast last night. Unfortunately it was noisy with another party but it still was fun. People didn't roast me hard. They ended up saying pretty nice things about me. When it was all done I did a short set. it went pretty ok. Thanks to Vicki, Summer, Megan, Shawn, Jawnee and his secret wife, Danny, Brandon, Nate and the rest of the lineup. There were so many my mind is slipping me.

I woke up this morning at 10am and left Alaina's house about noonish. I have driven something like nine and half hours but only have gotten 400 miles away from the old pickle pad. I am watching Family Guy and then going to sleep after it. I plan on getting up at 5:00am and then getting on the road again. I hope to be at El_Jefe's house soon.

No looking back

Ok first off, a lesson for people like me. Don't go drinking the night before you pack up your belongings. It isn't fun for anybody. Jawnee ended up coming over to edit a trailer of his film. My head was pounding and I was hoping to catch a nap before Cage Match later that day.

I went to Cage Match with out my nap but I was still prepared to film the chaos. Max met me there and I ended up asking two kids to leave the seats we normally sit in. The improv was good, the wrestling was fun and a special thanks was said about me during the close of the show.

We headed to McManus to grab a beer and I saw a bunch of friends of mine. I was butt tired after the beer and I needed to get up early for the movers on Friday.

Friday came and I got up at 8am. Around 9:30pm I was waiting outside for the movers and the cable guys showed up. This meant I was to be without TV before the movers showed up. My house gets boring when the TV is gone. The movers showed up at 10:30 and what I thought was to be a quick job ended up taking until 4:30pm. I was exhausted, I still needed to clean the apartment and then I find out the movers took candy bars and Sparks out of my fridge. I think they grabbed my sleeping bag as well. I was hoping to have it for my trip.

I met up with Max at Wogies and had a couple of sodas. Alaina came over a bit later and then we all ended up at Alaina's house for a couple hours. at 8:30pm we headed up to McCormacks and had dinner with Billy, Bobcat, Joe, John, and Akira. It was fun and good seeing them before I head out. I crashed out at Alaina's house since I don't have a home right now.

Today I am hoping to see a bunch of friends at Vicki's show but I think it's not going to go as I planned. I think it was a miscommunication on my part but probably the most important thing is that when things get really bad and the world looks its darkest, you just have to throw up your hands and say "Well, alright!" cause it's probably gonna get a whole hell of a lot worse.

See you kids at 9pm at Time Out Lounge!

Stressed

I am down to the wire. Movers are coming the day after tomorrow. My apartment looks like it was bombed by the rebel forces and they spread garbage around too.

I put my ex-girlfriend's sweatpants and other items in an envelope to mail to her. She said she can't come to my going away party because she is going to see her boyfriend of four months in Boston. I did find this a little upsetting since this could be the last time I see her but I guess it is more her loss than mine.

I missed receiving my new lease yesterday and I have to sign and notarize it very quickly. We are already in the month of October. I am also supposed to see my mother today and I know I will be battling traffic the whole way.

I am heading to work right now because I have to fill out documents to get paid. I need to try to get out of there as soon as possible though. I have too much to do.

I did get something done yesterday to make me happy. I ripped my dash apart and installed the Kenwood Ipod Interface to my DVD/GPS in my car. It isn't as intelligent as I wish but it does scroll song titles and let you browse to an extent.

I am have the moving guys on Friday morning. Ugh, that is a whole bunch of stress. I have to rely on friends for a place to crash. I haven't asked but my friends have been nice to offer me some places so far. I am going to have my car too and I want it to be in a secure place since I will have a bunch of crap in it for my move.

I haven't commented on the fall TV Season yet with the exception of Bionic Woman and Kitchen Nightmares. I did get to see the season premier of The Office. It was ok. I think it ruined the tension and excitement of the show by Karen leaving and Jim and Pam hooking up. The show wasn't as funny I think. I have watched two episodes of Chuck. It is ok, not super exciting and I think Scrubs is funnier, I don't even watch Scrubs regularly. Kitchen Nightmares had another great episode but one my friends compared it to the British version saying it was just an shock and awe version of the British one. Beauty and the Geek has gotten on my nerves because of the Hot Guy and one of the Beauty Girls hooked up the second episode and continue to make out all the time. Its Beauty and the Geek, not the Bachelor. I missed the season premier of Family Guy because I was just arriving in LA and I forgot to Tivo it. My Name is Earl was so-so.

Home sweet home, for now

So peeps, I am home in NYC for right now. Got home this morning and ended up putting my car in a lot because I was so tired.

The last day in Los Angeles was cool, I spent some time at Fry's. That place is dreamy to me. I used to spend so much time in there that there was a parts guy that used to remember me because of my frequent visits. I can't wait to buy some cool shit there. I saw a Venus T42 which was a four disk array for NAS. I want to research it a little but it was promising 3TB.

I went to Best Buy in El Segundo Plaza and I found the Kenwood ipod hookup for my stereo in my car. Regularly it is $100 but they had it for $52. I then went to Toys R Us and saw silly kids toys like Speed stacking cups.I noticed also that Razor scooters only support 143lbs. I am not sure this has always been the case or I was stretching the bounds of Razor-ware.

I went to a diiferent Best just checking around for the Kewood iPod thing for friends, I didn't see the Kenwood product but I had fun using Tom Tom to bother the people with their bluetooth phones

I wound up at the airport early enough for a couple drinks before my Virgin America flight. I was prepared to have a horrible flight but I did find out that the planes of Virgin America have 110v outlets under the seat to plug in my laptop to watch DVDs.

I landed safely and ended up putting my car in a lot because I was to tired to wait for a spot. I got woken up by realtors asking to look at my place. I got a call that I was approved for the apartment I put the deposit for. I still have to sign the lease and get them money but I am moving there.

Tomorrow, I have to work. Tomorrow at 6:30pm Summer and the Whitehouse's perform at UCB. Wednesday, I am seeing my Mom. I don't know if I will be bacl from there. Thursday, some stuff I have to do with Jawnee and the Cage Match. Friday, hacker friends gathering and dinner. Saturday, the comedy roast of tommEE pickles.
