Gonna buy me a rainbow

Head hurts but I still live. Its because I went out but the fun was worth the pain. I saw Paincake and Kempsas last night. I didn't know what to expect from Paincake but Alana Harrison brings some great characters to life. Kempsas was awesome too. Christina Gausus and Ellie Kemper cracked me up with their DJ/changing room scenes.

After the show I went to Revival. On the way to the bar I got recognized, it was an interesting event. I saw Devin, Mike and Kevin at Revival. We got a poker came going and I won both rounds. Awesome winning $40 from friends. Kevin then gave me $20 to place on black 22 when I am in Vegas.

Today I didn't want to leave the house but I wanted to cash in some coins and get some money from the bank. I withdrew $4000 and then went to Commerce bank and counted my change. It came out to be $101.

Tomorrow I am in Vegas, so tonight I am going to take it easy. I might go to harold night but I am not sure.

What a booyah great weekend

Its hard to find a way to start explaining the mayhem of this weekend. It should be noted that all the people who attended the Del Close Marathon were super nice and fun to be around.

I arrived at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater at 3:30 on Friday afternoon to get in line for a my bracelet and waited for Jawnee to show a final look of the DVD for Bro'in Out. The line grew rapidly as 4:00pm approached and the temperature was a little warm.

I got inside and got my green performer bracelet. I saw Jawnee inside the Chill Out room, filling up the ice for the keg buckets and tap. I showed the DVD to him and it didn't work. I ran out to CVS and picked up some DVDs. I went to the back and burned a new DVD for Bro'in Out. I then went to watch the Marathon Press Conference hosted my Matt Walsh, Ian Roberts and Matt Besser.

I hung out in the Chill Out room till 7:00pm and then caught BassProv. I haven't seen it and I was pleasantly surprised. The bar was open in the back so this is where I got to drinking. Jawnee came back and the DVD was fine. I then went to watch the Stepfathers. It was of course extremely crowded but they put on a great show. I know I hung out with a lot of people in the hallways. In the green room I chatted up Christina and Billy. I congratulated them on a fantastic show. Matt Walsh came in an asked to borrow a pair of sun glasses. I obliged and he said he would return them later. When he was finished with his show he found me in the back and returned the sun glasses.

I gave Jawnee the DVD to give to Pat in the booth and we tested it to make sure it played satisfactory. After Death by Roo Roo, Jawnee took the stage with Seth Morris and Leo Allen. Matt Walsh came out as himself and Matt Besser came out as MySpace Tom and Ian Roberts played a retard. Towards the end, Jawnee told Pat to play the video showing a history of Matt and his wife leading up to the birth of their baby. The video got good laughs and it seemed there was applause when my name showed on the credits.

I ran home to grab my video camera for the UCBW show I was performing in. I picked up my main camera and a secondary one for Jawnee to film from the audience. One problem was the second camera wasn't charged. When I got back to the theater I got myself another beer and plugged in the camera needing charging in the hallway. Unfortunately McDonalds complained that they smelled smoke and other stuff coming up through the vents. They said if it didn't stop, they would call the cops. So we could no longer smoke in the hallways. Although there was still beer and some others were getting funky with whip-its. I was impressed with the arsenal of cartridges and the professional dispenser.

I saw some shows after midnight. I caught Paul Scheer in To Catch a Predator Improv Edition, very funny. After that was See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil. It was a creative form of improv with players with tape over their mouths, noise blocking headsets on, or blindfolds on. It was really cool to see how they communicated with each other in scenes and edited.

Next up was working girls but I only got to see the first minutes because UCBW Improv was up next. I got the camera to Jawnee but it wasn't fully charged and then I headed backstage with the UCBW stable. Charlie headed out first and told the audience we were going to do a Harold. We then all took the stage, about 23 of us. I did the first scene with Rat Don't Care and Chuck McMahon. It was silly and referee Paul Lyons edited the scene. Then there was scenes with Cake Face, Orange Mime, Foreign Menace and Mario. There was a funny scene with Frat Boy where they re-enacted the lacrosse rape scene Constantine from Con Edison blocked my camera and we got into a little push and shove. We did a group scene of flying and then I did a scene with Foreign Menace. TT Billingworth, Sky Goldfarb, The Captain and Anthony were pimping us during this show too.

After the show, the bar was close and it was quiet because of the theater cleaning. I went home and got some sleep.

Saturday I got to see the Upright Citizens Brigade in the afternoon and then I decided to go home for a bit and play some online poker. I saw fwand was performing at 8:30 at the Hudson Guild Theater and I started out. When I was about a block away I ran into Ellie Kemper. We walked together to the Hudson Guild Theater because we both haven't been there. I went inside and caught Callous and they had some great players. Fwand was next and they kicked ass.

I headed back to UCB and partied a bunch. I caught C,C, + C Improv Factory and they had a awesome set. I then sat on the stage for Cracked Out with Reggie Watts. Unfortunately Reggie wasn't there because he was out of town but Brett and Jon did awesome freestyle. After that I caught Derrick and Match Game 76. I was pretty partied out but I kept going. I got to catch Film Noir and I loved it. I loved the shooting at the end. Bombardo was awesome and its not because I have a crush on three or four of the women on the team

I was ready to got but I was chatting up with Phlip and Big Tobacco hit the stage. They asked for a volunteer to be interviewed for their opening. I said I would do it. The team was happy and a bunch of them knew me or of me. The interview covered a bunch of weird facts about me that most of my friends know. I stayed and watched them perform and they were really great and used a bunch of funny things such as name changing for $50.

I saw Neil Casey and said Happy Birthday because Saturday was his birthday. He told me to stick around for Krompf and grab some free breakfast. I got me some eggs, a bagel, a slice of bacon and a glass of OJ. They performed for 20 minutes and it was fun. I went home after that.

I woke in the afternoon with a hangover but I think it was the beer and not the improv. It was raining and a little late so I didn't make it back to the theater. I did have a hell of a time meeting and hanging out with so many people. I would name drop all the stars but there are so many people that are stars in my eyes. Anyone who I saw this weekend, thank you, you made this weekend so awesome. Booyah.

Some highlights of yesterday

Some cool things that could have been included in yesterday's blog:
I was introduced to Matt Walsh, one day I hope to take a class under him.
Yesterdays quote of the day came from Matt Besser "I lost my bong".
Last night was I Got Next: The Del Close Marathon Preview Jam. It went on for several hours and there weer a bunch of people there. Hecklers were funny. Dominic, Justin, Eli and Gethard did scenes while doing Brazilian Jujitsu. Zack Woods owned the stage in his emotional spotlighted scenes.

Ahhh finished

That could apply to a couple things. Finished, I think, interviewing with a big media company. Four interviews. I don't know what the final verdict it but fingers are crossed. Worse case scenario, I don't get the gig and I am stuck here for a while.

Other news, Jawnee and I finished the video we were working on. I am going to CVS to pick up some emergency DVDs and burn it tonight. It will be shown at Bro n Out at 11:30 tomorrow. I am hoping to show it to him tonight but it might have to wait till tomorrow morning which means we are cutting it close.

If you do attend the Del Close Marathon tomorrow, catch me on stage at 5:00 in the morning after the bar stops serving.

More Wifi in NYC Parks

Well you New Yorkers who just can't stop checking you mail in the park, the Sheep Meadow hot spot now runs at 15 megabits per second - five times as fast as the regular. Now 70 people can be hooked up to the service at one time. Seventeen parks have wi-fi hotspots, but Sheep Meadow is the first to go to the new high speed.

Calgon, take me away.

Playing poker to the early hours of morning isn't helping my sleeping habits. It hasn't been helping my poker playing either. Tournaments I usually enter have 3000 people in them and I do well but they ofter last three to four hours. I don't end up entering them until after midnight. You can see the problem with this.

Tomorrow I have an appointment for the entertainment gig. I am trying to get home and to sleep at a decent hour. I just left Mo Pitkins where I was meeting up with Sue Ball before her show, The Rochelle Show, to give her a DVD I made for her of her performance. When I got inside I saw Rob Latham and he thanked me for the pictures I took of his Get Psyched show. He did a version of it tonight and it was great. I also saw Shawn Hollenbeck but didn't get to say hello.

I saw that I am listed on the UCBW show I am doing this weekend. http://www.delclosemarathon.com/dcm9/index.php?option=show&showid=851 If you can make it, it would be awesome. The are plenty of shows before us and we are closing act before the hour long theater cleaning.

I made some more tshirts for the warm weather I am about to experience in Las Vegas. I since I will be watching so much improv this weekend, the time to prepare for Vegas is shortened. It leave Monday and Tuesday. Got to do some laundy and house cleaning soon.

Did tommEE lose a computer?

No I didn't lose a computer but yes I know I haven't blogged lately. I am playing online poker on one of my computers right now while updating this blog. This week has been keeping me busy with responsibilities and recreation. Monday I met with Jawnee to do some finishing on the video stuff. I then returned later on to see Vicki perform in the show My Dinner with Billy, with Billy Merritt. I took some pictures and posted them here.

I went to Revival after the show and hung out with Devin. He updated me on his trip to Las Vegas. I updated him on the weekly things that I experienced. I brought my laptop because Kevin wanted play online poker. I found out that the wireless that I found in the bar wasn't letting me out to the internet. We didn't get to play poker. Kevin showed up but the bar was dead so we all went home.

Tonight was a great night with the weekend house teams, from the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, performed at Harold Night. I saw so many friends of improv there. I received my UCBW shirts that I made for this weekend and I brought one to Harold Night to give to Charlie Todd.

Mother was first up and did a great opening. Made me see what Anthony was talking about when he mentioned a truely organic opening. Death by Roo Roo was up next and used a patern game for their opening. It was very funny. Rueben Williams went up and had a great opening and it turned to some great edits also. Stepfathers closed out the night with great Everglades humor.

Thursday I have one more interview/meeting with the big job. Friday I will be at the Del Close Marathon a lot. I might be mostly out of communication. It's probably going to me a texting weekend. Remember I am leaving Wednesday. I am gone for a week.

Hangover courtesy of Cowboy and John

I received a phone call informing me of a party last night. It was a party hosted by Curtis and John because they are moving to a new apartment. I didn't know when I could arrive at the party but I mentioned I was going to a show hosted by Vicki. I was told to bring Vicki and just show up.

Vicki's show was to start at 11pm, I showed up at 10:30. I didn't see Vicki outside so I went down into the lounge and I spotted her. I went outside with her and watched her bark to all the people passing. Max and Alaina arrived and we caught up on weekly news of each others lives.

Vicki's show was funny. One comedienne was doing some crowd work to setup a joke, she prefaced it with "Are there any rich people in the audience?". I raised my hand and I think her joke went down like the titanic. She redeemed it a little later but there was a moment of "Oh no...". It was a great lineup at the show but unfortunately the crowd was smaller than last week.

I asked Vicki what she was planning on doing after the show. She said she didn't have anything planned so I asked her to the party. We dropped off Max and Alaina then headed to the address I was given. It was 2am when we finally arrived at the party and it was still in full swing. the roof deck was so crowded. There was liquor and beer to be found and I did find it. I saw some of my UCBW pals and we discussed the upcoming Del Close marathon. I saw a couple ladies from my improv class. It was just a super fun event and there so many improv pals while meeting new ones also.

Improv class was hard. I had Christina for the first three hours and I think there was some funny stuff. It was a little sad since Laura, who was in the class, is going back to Virginia Tech. Maybe she will be back next summer. It was our last class with Christina, I hope I can grab a new class with her in LA or something.

After Christina's class, I had King's class. I was pretty beat by this time. I couldn't complain too much since I know that Curtis had to teach two classes and he had to be up later than I was. I know one of the people that I met from my class last night, didn't show up for class today. Class was hard, for some reason I just wasn't playing well. I had a pretty boring scene with no game up top of the class and then when we were playing a la ronde, I was really disconnected from playing game. The only thing I felt good about was when we were playing with organic ways of starting an opening, total free form.

Things that are on my plate for the rest of the week should keep me pretty busy outside the online poker. I have to meet up with Jawnee to do some video editing and try to finish up this video for the Bro'in Out show at the Del Close Marathon. I have to pickup a DVD that I made for Rachael and copy it. The next day I have to drop off a DVD at the Rochelle Show. Tshirt order was placed for three UCBW shirts for the Del Close UCBW Improv show, the last show of Saturday Evening. Friday is Jawnee's show at 11pm and I will be in UCBW on 5am Sunday morning.

It was a very funny event

The Summerstage event that the Upright Citizens Brigade put on was great. The evening started with a country inspired comedy band called the Defibrillators. Horatio Sanz and Rob Riggle were the hosts for the evening. The first act was Slovin and Allen which had a funny scene with dueling banjos done with boomboxes next up was Rebecca Drysdale with the funniest and most entertaining rap ever. She did a rap which was like an improv lesson. It was awesome, then she brought out a Percussion School from Brooklyn whom brought the coolest performance. There was a break and then Stickerbook took the stage. They sang Wakeup and then they sang their rendition of Sweet Child of Mine. It was very cool, especially the saw playing Regggie Watts took the stage and freakin blew my mind. I think it was just him and an 808 sampler or something. He created such musical awesome-ness with hysterical comedy. Next up was Cracked Out, one of my favorites. The best part of their act was rapping a count to 100. I hope it ends up on their website. Closing was Demetri Martin, he was very funny but I left toward the end to beat the crowd. Best of the night was Rebecca Drysdale and Reggie Watts.

I am still in the running for the big gig I have been considering. I went in to talk to them today and things are still looking ok.

I was supposed to do some video editing with Jawnee Conroy but I didn't hear back from him. I just watched a bunch of TV today. I planned on some improv stuff but I have Improv practice tomorrow and six hours of workshops Sunday. I guess Monday I will go out for a drink and try to meet up with Kevin for some online poker domination.

BTW. Summer stage pictures are at http://picasaweb.google.com/tommee/UCBTSummerstage2007

Who did the RUST album?

I think it was in the 70's whenthere was an album called Rust because Neil Young or someone did a concert in the rain. The Upright Citizens Brigade are playing Summerstage and it raining on and off, making it not the best for a concert on grass. I don't know if I will see anyone, right now it appears not.

I had a bad stomach pain last night. It felt like a pain I only had once before when I was in Vegas. When I had it before, it was so painful I thought my appendix was going to rupture. I sped to a hospital in Las Vegas and rolled around the floor of the waiting room for an hour. When they tested me with an urine test, blood test and MRI, they found it to be possibly gastritous. Last night I tried waiting it out. I finally passed out and I just feel sore in the muscles around my stomach.

Deanna is currently on a flight to Boston for a family emergency. She invited me to see her in Boston this weekend but I have a work thin tomorrow, Vicki's show on Saturday and six hours of improv workshop on Sunday.

Last Comic Bland... Zing!

If you saw the latest episode of Last Comic Standing, you know that there was ten comics doing two minutes of their bits. Ok, ten comics times two minutes equals 20 minutes. That means there was 40 minutes of commercials and fluff? Wow, how sucky is TV getting. After that was To Catch a Predator. I never really watched it as intently as this time. It is really funny how these people (er... predators) plead, cry and deny when the trap is sprung. The next program, I do not lie, is To Catch an Identity Thief. I don't think they will do with too much computer sniffing or dumpster diving stuff but I would like to email the show anyway to comment.

I have been editing a bunch of stuff. The Rochelle Show DVD is done and I hope Sue enjoys it. Other than that, I have just been playing a bunch of online poker. I was online last night and my friend Kevin was on. We finally got to sit at a table together. It was a 10 seat no limit holde'm table. He was out kind of early. I finished in second place because the other guy was playing tight with a tall stack. I saw Annie Duke playing at a table with a minimum buy in of $8000. I wish I could play at a table like that. It is good that I get practice playing though, I plan on hitting some tables in Vegas in two weeks. Devin leaves tomorrow for Vegas, I hope he has a good time.

If you didn't ear about it today, a steam line blew up in midtown by Grand Central Station. Check out http://gothamist.com/2007/07/18/explosion_in_vi.php to see how huge the explosion was. At first people were frightened it was a terrorist attack. The scene looked like something to be compared to such. People ran and police arrived on scene fast. The explosion opened a crater 25 feet by 25 feet, swallowing a tow truck. One person died due to the event.

I wrote an email to an ex-girlfriend today. I might make a big decision and I wanted to talk with someone who could give me a second opinion. I also missed talking with her. She didn't reply to me yet, I wonder if she will.

Tomorrow is Upright Citizens Brigade at Summerstage. Rob Riggle and Horatio Sanz will be hosting. The line up is Demetri Martin, The DEFiBULATORs, Slovin & Allen, Rebecca Drysdale, Reggie Watts, Stickerbook and Cracked Out. I will probably see lots of my friends there. The doors open at 6:30 so I imagine I will have to get there early. If you are planning on going, call me, email me or text me and I will tell you where I am in line.

State Considers Banning Texting While Driving

State Senator Carl Marcellino of Oyster Bay and Assemblyman Felix Ortiz of Brooklyn are co-sponsoring a bill to stop drivers from text messaging while driving. Last month, an SUV driven by a 17-year-old girl crashed into a tractor trailer upstate in Ontario County. The SUV's driver, Bailey Goodman, and the four friends in the car all died on impact (the tractor trailer's driver was uninjured).

Investigators found that text messages had been sent from and to Goodman's cell phone shortly before the crash; Goodman also spoke on the cell phone a few minutes before the crash. It will never be known if Goodman had written the text messages herself, but the Ontario County sheriff said, "Cell phones are a distraction and could be a contributing cause in this accident."
There have also been questions about whether Goodman was permitted to drive at night and with non-relative passengers under 21, because she only had a junior license. Ortiz, who has sponsored a lot of legislation banning or restricting the use of cell phones while driving (including the current ban on non-hands-free cellphone use), said, "It's a shame that it may take a tragedy like this for this bill to move forward."

Go Ninja, go ninja

Saw ninjas, saw a Delorian and might see the other coast soon. It's been a hangover time but I am able to survive. It has been announced that Rose's Turn is closing this Sunday for good. It is turning into a real estate office. Danny hosted On the Rocks there and his last show at Rose's was last night. Pictures of the night can be found here.

I finally got on Facebook but I needed to use the a different name. I added some people but if you know me you probably will find me. I am only using it to connect to Laura and other friends that hate the myspace.

Billy Merritt had his 601 class perform the Ninja Harold. It was great. A lot of surprises and humor being tossed around like throwing stars. I took some pictures of the show and posted them here.

I talked with my employment head hunter and he said the human resources woman, at the opportunity I have been looking into, said the IT heads thought positive about me. I am supposed to go back into the office this week to meet with the HR woman and discuss living situations for the bi-coastal gig. I did get to reconnect with Xris when I went to interview the other day and I plan on having lunch with him this week. I did also talk to Billy Merritt about the possiblity of taking classes on the West Coast and he said he might teach in September. I know that Christina Gausus might teach there also.

Not dead but close

I have been running myself ragged lately. I just got back from the interview that I would travel between the coasts. It went well. I had a written test to do but I know I didn't do it perfectly. I think I would get the job on charm.

This weekend was filled with improv. I went to see Rob Latham do his Get Psyched show and then stayed for Stepfathers. I didn't go drinking afterwards because I had my improv practice group on Saturday.

Improv practice group sucked for several reasons. The major reason was that only Tim and I were there for the practice. Kiran was the but he bring the second reason, UCB was hosting the invite only auditioning at the same time as our practice.

I also got some news that my class with Christina was canceled and being pushed back one week. I was not very happy about the news but it enabled me to party a little on Saturday night where I ended up at Boulevard Tavern.

Sunday, I still had class but it is my new workshop with Anthony King. It was ok, I think I provided good support work from the back line but I don't think my scenes were all that good.

Right now I am heading to Danny's show at Rose's Turn. I am going to hopefully get a couple drinks and the something to eat after. Tomorrow I might have a hangover, so be gentle.

Is my memory going?

I have become an editor for a lot of sketches and improv stuff. Its ok, I like supporting all my friends but I have been busy. I did meet with Jawnee and made his film a little bit better with some zooms and panning. In return he brought some beer and got me into Stepfathers tonight. I did however forget to call up for my laundry. Damn memory.

I am feeling a little burned out and I think its because I haven't been hanging out with friends as much and when I drink, I have been drinking to change my mood. I almost ended up tonight but I have practice with my improv group tomorrow. I cannot go out late tomorrow either since I have three hours with Christina and then three more hours with Anthony King on Sunday. I think Monday night can be my fun time. I have an interview for that awesome.. er... great job on Monday. I don't think I have anything on Tuesday but editing and Harold Night.

Two weeks from Monday I am in Vegas which is good timing if I get that new job. I am psyched to see El_Jefe and Bink. Tina is staying with me and I am hoping it will be a good time for both of us. I have ton of friends going to be there. I also have to start laying plans for my birthday, its only six months away.

Don't you hate showing your receipt when you leave stores now?

Toys 'R' Us Sued For Racial Discrimination
Store Calls Allegations 'Entirely Ridiculous'

NEW YORK -- The Toys "R" Us toy store chain is facing a multi-million dollar lawsuit for allegedly discriminating against black customers.

The lawsuit has been filed in federal court in New York. It says Toys "R" Us subjects black customers to "heightened and biased" scrutiny of their sales receipts after buying merchandise -- more so than white shoppers.

The lawsuit charges that undercover operatives, security guards and employees in the stores routinely surround black shoppers in front of friends, relatives or neighbors.

Toys "R" Us called the allegations "entirely ridiculous" and said it does not tolerate discrimination of any kind.

The company is based in New Jersey and operates more than 1,500 freestanding specialty stores worldwide.

Guilty pleasures

VH1 is playing some World Series of Pop Culture episodes back to back. I wish I got on the wild card team because I have become a pretty good trivia buff. Maybe I should just enter 1 vs. 100. I don't know if that show exists anymore.

I ordered a pizza with meatball on it. First time I have had something like that. It was very very tasty. I ordered it because I am nursing a hangover. Visiting Revival isn't always a good idea I tell you.

I am making a DVD for Rachael Mason of her show Half Empty. I still haven't gotten together with Jawnee Conroy to finish his sketch movie. I need to edit the Rochelle Show I taped last night too.

News on the job front, I got word back for the company I would be working on both coasts. They will be flying in and I will interview in person on Monday.

Cage Match tonight.

I am sorry, Tis and Mary

You might be wondering what the hell is tommEE talking about. I had a dream early this morning about Tis and Mary. We were hanging out on some docks. It might have been a party but it wasn't anywhere I had on the top of my mind. It might have been in Maryland or something.

We were exploring a yacht or large boat and all of a suddend Mary was kidnapped by a black girl who was very athletic. The reason I say she was athletic was because she would jump down from level to level within the ship. All of a sudden I heard Tis sceam Mary. She screamed she was kidnapped and to watch out. Then the black girl was after me. I ran downstairs in the yacht and then dived into the water. The girl was after me. I woke up at this point. What does it mean? Probably not to sleep with the TV on.

I interviewed for the Department of Corrections again and I think I am what they want but the pay isn't going to be that great. I also had a phone interview with the company that would allow me to live on both coasts. It felt like it went well.

I filmed the Rochelle Show tonight and it was ok. Sue Ball is always funny in her character if she wasn't taken, I would definitely persue her. She had Mike Dobbins on the show who was good. At first I didn't like his act but he made me laugh after a couple minutes. He knew to play to the camera too. Other sets were not as funny. Heather Fink was hot looking but I was more attracted to her than her sketch. I don't know who played the songs on the uke tonight but it was ok. The sketch about screwing a man was looooooong. Sue paid me $25 for the film job (are you listening IRS) but didn't need to since she bought me a drink. I can imagine Sue and I becoming better friends since she is so nice and honest. She respects my opinion and I think she is wonderful.

Tomorrow I film Cage Match. I have DVDs to make for Rochelle, Rachel and some guy who wants Pirates. I am dog sitting for Tina tomorrow and Vegas is like 20 days away.

Hot hot hot

Man the weather is yucky. I wonder what Vegas is going to feel like in comparison. I am headed to Vegas in three weeks. No hookers this time, I am going with someone anyway.

I awoke to the movie Devil Wears Prada this morning. It was good but not as good as I expected. Meryl was super and Stanley Tucci was ok but the rest of the cast felt force fed in several scenes.

I got a call from both the jobs I have been persuing. I have to interview tomorrow for both. One requiring me to live on both coasts. Too cool. I have to do some financial stuff tomorrow and get my laudry done. I have a filming commitment tomorrow for Sue Ball and her Rochelle Show. Thursday I will be filming Cage Match. Then I think I am going to visit my mother this weekend. It will give me a chance to check out my car.

Oh Rob Schneider

I am watching The Hot Chick, not my first time, and I don't know why. I am so wishing for fall season television but I guess that is why God invented drinking. It is good to watch for the role reversal and see how Rob and his counterpart perform as the opposite sex. It was a good day besides the Schneider flick thing. Improv went well, Christina is a great and very supportive coach. I think the majority of my work was great. I also have to eliminate the word awesome from my vocabulary. I used it too much today.

Tina and I went out to Max's party and then ended up at a new bar called Angels and Kings. The bar was new so it wasn't complete, with ceiling light wires hanging and limited décor. The bar was filled with people who were all dressed up, looking like they came from the upper west side or something but this was just a cool bar off of Avenue A. We only stayed for one drink because someone was playing DMX and other crap.

Earlier today Christina said "You probably have some fun stories" and some of my friends laughed. I told her I do have lots of adventures and told her how I lived in Vegas and Los Angeles. She said she wondered how living in Vegas was. I told her I dated a stripper. She wanted to hear the story or even see that in a scene or something.

Her name was Jade (a stage name) and I met her on a trip to visit some friends in Vegas. We decided to hit up a new strip club one night called SIN. Our group was five guys and one girl. The girl was angry and she scared the strip girls. So the strippers wouldn't give us lap dances. We told the girl and her boyfriend, if they weren't having a good time, they should split.

After they split, I saw a girl walk by and I stopped her. I told her I thought she was cute and I would like a lap dance. She informed me she was the shooter girl and not a dancer. With my embarrassment, I sat back down. Then, three minutes later, a pretty phillipine girl asked me where I was from. I said Santa Monica. She responded with a "me too". I said "We should go out for a drink sometime". She started dancing for me. I dismissed the geographical query to just small talk. After the song ended, she turned to me and said "are you serious about getting together?". I said "Of course" and we exchanged numbers.

A couple of days later, she called to say she was in town and wondered if I wanted to pick her up. I went to her mother's house and we went out to dinner. I brought her over to my house and gave her a tour. I figured, I have seen her naked, action can't be far off. Boy was I wrong. Just kissing. Don't get me wrong, it still was fun.

I saw her at the club again and there is something to be said for dating strippers. The lap dances get a lot better. Strippers in Vegas can touch you and put your hands anywhere. Nuff said. She said I should pick her up and we will grab a bite somewhere tomorrow.

I saw her before her shift and we went to dine. I was staying in the Bally's hotel and showed her the giant suite I was given. It was a sexy suite but again, PG movie fooling around. The food was the highlight. I thought, this can only go on for one more date. You know, the three date rule.

We talked on the phone and she suggested we meet at a central place. She lived in weekly housing but I don't think that was the reason she was keeping me away. She wanted to go shopping, she said lets go to The Shops at Aladdin.

When we went shopping, she didn't find anything that she liked. She suggested we go somewhere else. She said she wanted to go to Strings. I didn't know what Strings was. When we got there got to Strings I realized it was a stripper outfit store. I was curious but not very interested. I got to see Jade to try on some outfits and she danced around the stripper pole. After she picked out some outfit outfits, she turned to me and asked which one I would like to buy for her. Huh? I picked one.

She and I went to dinner and it was here I put some cards on the table. The outfit was expensive, dinner was more, she didn't seem affectionate, hid where she lived. More than one reason to stop this madness. She wasn't exactly happy.

Some thoughts

One thing, no matter if I drank a little or a lot the night before, I should not Tyson Buffalo Chicken Strips for lunch. They just said good bye to me in a harsh way.

I just got home and I am feeling a little tired. I was going to go to Death by Roo Roo but I didn't think I had the energy to drink a couple beers watching some comedy. One the way home I bumped into MC Chris but he noticed me first, that was cool. He was on his way to Roo Roo but I had ice cream in my bag and he was running late for the show anyway.

I thought of Rebecca on the way home because I was listening to Neil Diamond. The Buffalo Chicken Strips got her out but I should call her soon.

I have some video editing to do for UCBW and Half Empty. Plus if you haven't forgotten I have Ice Cream. It should be a wild evening.

Fliming stuff

Today I think I will mention someone else from my past. I was walking past my old school, FIT, and I thought of Geri Payawal. I dated her a long time. I have walked past FIT many times on my way to UCB or The PIT but this time I think I thought of her because I was paying close attention to the dorm halls.

We had a good long relationship except for the time I disclosed to her I had to go away months at a time in the Coast Guard. It was also bad when I told her I was upset because I just broke up with another girl while we were dating. The straw that broke the camels back was when we fought in a subway and it got very loud and aggressive. We broke up later in a night club.

We got together a year later or so for lunch and then for a movie. I didn't know if she was trying to repair the damage. It wasn't that all, she was questioning my sexual history. I wasn't insulted but it made me think of what trouble she could be wrapped up in. We never spoke after that.

In March 2005 I was staying in NYC and I googled her name. She was in an actress registry and going the show business route. I looked her number up and gave her a call. She didn't want to talk to me. She had very short answers and she ended the conversation with "Have a nice life". It didn't make me happy but who knows what was going on in her life, I just wanted to catch up.

I was asked by Rachel to film her last show with Ben Rodgers, Ellie Kemper and Joe Wengert. The show was called Half Empty and it is a great sketch show. If you didn't see it yet, it should be returning in August.

I also interviewed with the Department of Corrections today. The interview went ok but I seem to get the "You are over-qualified for this position , we are worried you will get bored". I have a second interview with someone there so I am sure I will have another post about the DOC. Saturday is Max's birthday.

I told you I have adventures

The started with Vicki, Crystal's and Phlip's new team Harold performance at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. The performance was good and I saw some friends there too. After the performance Vicki and I headed to Bar 9 where Becca Jones was having her birthday party.

At Bar 9, Tim, Phaea, Vicki and I were hanging out a lot because we didn't no many people at the party. After four hours, Phaea wanted to get out of there and head to another fun place like see some improv or another bar. We decided to go to McManus.

At McManus the fun continued and I saw some improv peeps. Vicki had a Long Island Ice Tea and was funny. Tim asked if he could crash out at my pad since I live very close to the bar and he didn't have to drive drunk. Becca actually showed up later which was cool. It was her birthday. Vicki left right before they called last call. Tim and I walked to the McDonalds by my house.

Inside the McDonalds, it was extremely crowded. It looked if a hip-hop club just emptied out by the way they were dressed and behaving. Tim and I ignored the happenings around us and just got in line. Behind us arrived a french sounding couple, as the line advanced. For as many people that were in the McDonalds, they only had one cashier and one cook it appeared. We got to the front of the counter and the crowd was getting louder and more condensed. People were trying to cut the line and get their food faster but the cashier was being attentive and wasn't fooled by line jumpers. The crowd was making it feel like a tense situation was rising.

All of a sudden the crowd jumped back, sounds of shock and surprise were audible. Then I saw two individuals jump the McDonalds counter and the whole crowd exited the area. On the floor was a younger male, bleeding with at least one visible cut across his face. He laid on his side and looked as he was maybe stabbed as well. The was blood gathering on the floor. I yelled to the McDonalds employees to call 911.

The cops arrived in record time. The detective was a short man with a short temper. He yelled and pushed Tim out of the McDonalds. I waited at the counter and asked for my money back. The cashier was saying that my food would be ready soon but I was not in the mood to eat anymore. He gave me my money back. I tried to tell the detective and cops what happened but they were not the most appreciative to hear information. The cops looked downstairs for the men who jumped the counter but came up with nothing. Then three minutes later they looked again and then the cops drew their weapons and shouted freeze. They asked us if they were they men we saw jump the counter. I couldn't say yes with 100% certainty because it was a blur although, how many people are hiding in the back of the McDonalds on a normal basis. The men told the cops they were friends of the man who was assaulted. I decided I was done with this and I headed outside, met Tim and headed home. It was a weird thing to witness.

I woke up this morning and was happy I didn't eat the McDonalds food, my stomach was thankful too.

Terror Firmer

El_Jefe, you mother scratcher! Its only like three weeks until we are angering people in Sin City.

I am thinking of El_Jefe because I needed a movie to watch and I grabbed Terror Firmer off of my shelf and we used to watch that movie a bunch when he was my roomie. We discovered a bunch of crappy movies as well as the ability to buy 40's by a case. We did have some fun excursions as well. We went to the premiere of Toxic Avenger IV and the bar crawl that preceded it. We were with Sgt Kabukiman and Lloyd Kaufman hopping through three bars and then to the movie. I was screaming "Toddster" up and down the street while Lloyd was filming me. After the movie... me, Jefe and Banshee headed to the after party at Troma LA office. When we got to the office, no one was there. Then out of the blue, here comes an El Camino with Sgt Kabukiman on the hood. The car stops and he goes flying. When he got up, he stated "I'll get us in to the office". 10 seconds later, the alarm sounds. It went off for two minutes and then he opened the door. There was really nothing to drink so we ended up in the kitchen drink vodka out of a plastic bottle.

Congrats to my friends Amber, Phaea, Tim, Kiran and Becca on a great performance. I plan on seeing Vicki and Phlip performing tonight I believe. Tonight is Becca's birthday also.

One month till Vegas

Improv workshop was good. I had trouble with a couple of scenes. My first one was good and I did well on some exercises but I felt I wasn't at the top of my game with other things.

I have also found myself enjoying Ice Road Truckers. I don't know why. When I was little I imagined being a trucker when I grew up but I had influences like Convoy and Smokie And The Bandit. Its insane how they truck 150 or so miles over ice. I don't know anything about structures but wouldn't a suspension bridge work too?

I thought of two girls this weekend that haven't been on my mind for a long time. The first is a girl I had my first real kiss with. I was on a camping trip with a guy named Greg Goble (sp?). His mother and a young girl who was his neighbor joined us also. I think we went camping in Pennsylvania and I think the Platters were playing there too. There was an indoor/outdoor pool and I was swimming with the girl and Greg. I don't know how it exactly happened but we kissed for the first time in that pool. I know I visited her after the camping trip but don't remember how it all ended. I do remember her house was yellow, I think.

The other girl I was thinking about was someone from my Coast Guard years. I was in boot camp and I was such a comedian then too. I pissed off the company commander earlier that day and I was required to become and example for the rest of the company. I don't know how it happened but one of the girls in my company told me to sneak out of the barracks and meet her on the fire stairs of our building. I think we just talked, nothing evil. I thought we shared a cigarette but I don't think we could have done that.
