What the heck Society?

This week I have come to some conclusions about society. People are just silly and don't think so much. Staning in line to get a phone? Stupid. First, you have to be ATT customer. Second, you are buying an unreviewed product for $600. Thirdly, you will get it fine next week, it won't sell out, it is and ipod phone, that's it. You have all those features in other phones already. You bought a $600 iPod that make phone calls. By the way, you can't change the battery anyway.

There is something else bothering me. NBC has been advertising a show called The Singing Bee, a karaoke show that stops the music and you continue singing. Well FOX has also thrown its hat in and has a new program called Don't Forget The Lyrics. Are you kidding me? Society is horrible for fueling these networks bad ideas.

Practice group went good today and it was fun seeing Moonshine last night. I also went to Jamming with Ralph. I ended up at McManus after last nights improv fun.

Hola mis amigos

I am starting to get hungry and I have noticed I am eating a lot of Mexican food. It isn't the best restaurant but its very cheap. I don't know if I am taking in too many calories though.

Thursday I went to Cage Match and filmed the match for Charlie Todd. I brought my GL1 and a shotgun mic to capture the event. Sean, when he came out with Con Edison, performed a close-up to the camera. The video came out ok but when you upload it to youtube, it starts losing quality. The video can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEtkLapqIIA.

Jawnee Conroy called me yesterday. I did make the discovery that he doesn't have a cell phone. The is only the second person I know without one. Jawnee and I hung out at UCB while he rescued props from being thrown out. We talked about video stuff that he wanted help on for the Del Close Marathon. I think I have some good ideas to help. I would have had him come over but my place is a stye.

I went to Gotham City Improv later in the evening to see some friends in Moonshine. Inside, I grabbed me a seat up high so I could get some nice pictures. Charlie Todd showed up. I hardly see him outside the UCB scene. He said he was there to see his girlfriend in Loretta. We talked about fun UCBW stuff to try. One idea I think was worthwhile to look into is a video podcast of the matches. I am thinking we could get a away with better video quality.

I went drinking last night so I am not totally excited for my improv practice group. I also wish I had some time to myself because I do have my workshop with Christina Guasus tomorrow. It seems I don't have a lot of weekend time to myself. Maybe I can get some slack time and cleaning time before Vicki's show "Let the Laughs Out".

Rootie Tootie Fresh and Frutti

Yes, I am talking about the IHOP. I would kill for some of that but I will not travel out to Queens. I saw and wished Danielle and Greg good luck, they are leaving for Seattle on Sunday. My head hurts, I drank a little too much. On the upside I just ordered a burger and some cole slaw. I wish I felt a little more healthy, I am supposed to shoot the match at Cage Match tonight.

I talked with Deanna today and we were on the phone for hours. She told me she didn't enjoy the last days when she was in NYC. I said how can you be upset when you live next to a McDonalds. She said that she was so depressed that she wouldn't leave the house and she would order McDonalds delivery. I am glad she is doing better. I think that is why we have good conversations.

Some people were asking me when I will be out of town. They just wanted to plan stuff with me but didn't want to have me miss events. So here it is, I will be out of town from Aug 1st to Aug 8th. I might also be gone the week after.

I am going to San Fran

I saw Danny's show again. He had some funny guests. Vicki had a great set with tons of energy. Wendy Ho performed as well and I am becoming a huge fan. I have stated before that she reminds me of Deanna when she is in character. I talked with Wendy after the show asking her how she came up with the character. She said it was something that evolved out of college parties.

I decided to visit Revival and I hung out with Ben and Kevin. It wasn't a great idea but I am full of those in the evening.

I did decide I am going to visit San Fran. I want to visit Deanna since it will be ages till she visits NYC. I haven't been to California for over two years. I have a bunch of aquaintences there, so it could be a fun trip.

I missed a blog yesterday, I hope I don't end up pregnant

My poker tournament didn't happen but Vicki's show did. She had Summer, Danny, Jason Scarcely, Pembroke and Lou performing as well as Angry Bob. The show was great and the drinks were reasonably priced. After, we tried finding Leah Dubie at Poole Party and then Jason, Jeremy, Leah, Danny and I had food at Joshua Tree.

I have busy days when I don't get lots of sleep. I had three hours of sack time and then guess what, a busy day. I had bruch at Alaina's for the pride parade. Danny, Vicki and Jeremy showed up too. I had to run out early because of improv workshop. I had my first workshop with Christina Guasus and it was awesome. She gave some great instruction that I could really apply to my current knowledge. I wanted something to do after workshop but didn't have an idea. I saw Matt DeCoster on the way home, he asked if I wanted to join him. I would have but during my journey I decided on hitting up Boulevard Tavern.

On the way to Boulevard Tavern, I stopped off at Revival. Inside I saw Alex working and I haven't seen him in months. I had a drink or two and then Mike showed up. Yankees lost miserably again and then I headed to Brooklyn.

Boulevard Tavern was fun. Got me a burger and a dog and they were tasty. Harold let me know the liquor license was renewed for Raven. I had a couple drinks and then headed home because I was exhausted.

Din Daa Daa

I went to a street fair and it wasn't planned. I walked out of my house with nothing to do and after three blocks, Sausages and Mix Tapes. I did however need street fair type supplies today. I stopped at the big brand look-a-like sunglasses booth and picked up a pair of shades. I went to the guy selling wallets and picked up one of those. When I got to the mix tape guy, his name was DJ Lost-my-sale because he was a jackass and sold his discs for $10.

I went to a flea market in Hell's Kitchen and it had interesting stuff but nothing I purchased. What I was really looking for was a while velour sweatsuit. I feel foolish explaining here. I missed the poker tournament because I walked so much today, I was exhausted. I ended up falling asleep when I got home. The TV was on and I slept through it. I hope I don't end up killing someone because Mr. And Mrs. Smith was on or something.

CMT. Wow. I can't believe there are people like this.

I don't want to talk shit about anyone who I don't know personally nor do I want to put down any one's culture but Country Music Television has some weird shows.

I was trying to find something to watch and I saw that there was a show called Bandits vs. Smokies. I, being a Burt Reynolds fan and a fan of the Smokie of the Bandit genre, decided to tune in. It wasn't on but I did get to see one of my improv coaches, Billy Merritt, in his show Prankville. I recorded a couple of minutes of it so I could put some images on his myspace profile.

The show that followed his show was Born Country. This is where I heard a new term that I never heard before since I have grown up in New York City. The term, townie. I can guess what it means but funny to think what their slang must be for city folk. The show showed country people and town people merging their cultures in marriage. It covered the preperations, the bachelor party and wedding. I saw a man on the show with a Wrangler Jeans Lable tattooed on his ass. I know, it's like watching Animal Planet and studying a species.

I saw Cage Match with Omlette Vision and Feifdom performing. I didn't hardcore heckle for the wrestling match or intros but the improv division was awesome. Billy Merritt's team Omlette Vision was awesome. Feifdom did bring a bunch of friends to the audience and passed out free beer but didn't win. They only lost by 19 votes but it is hard to beat a team that has two power hitters like Merritt and Delaney.

I watched a film called Just My Luck with Lindsay Lohan. I would skip this one if you are not unemployed and bored to death. Things that made me laugh were that I don't find Lohan attractive, the world might be crazy and the blatant Capital One plug in the film. Other than that I couldn't find anything redeeming about this movie. I don't think it was in the theaters though.

I was thinking about seeing Evan Almighty tonight but unfortunately, my friends wanted to play pool. I didn't want to pour my money into the bars tonight and I didn't have the energy to try to make the Stepfathers show tonight since I was at Cage Match last night. I think I will try to catch a matinee tomorrow. In the evening, Vicki has her show at the Time Out Lounge.

Old jewish women are funny

I had another chance to see the Rochelle Show at Mo Pitkins. I also had a chance to talk with Sue Ball, the woman behind the show. She is a comedic genius and is brilliant when it comes to portraying a character.

I did however miss the Mini Britney performing at the Wendy Ho Show. I am sure I will see her sometime. I talked to Deanna about it and she was trying to convince me to miss the Rochelle Show for it but that's because Deanna knows I like freaks.

I recently booked my flight to Vegas for the annual gathering, Defcon. I am very excited to see friends, gamble and drink. Some people know, I used to live in Vegas but it didn't serve me properly. I didn't have the amount of friends I had in New York or Los Angeles. They only recreation seems to be gambling. I did get out to the movies and such sometimes. Drinking also became a hobby. I got my DUI in Vegas and served three nights in jail. Its a funny story but not a fun experience.

I start my workshop with Christina Gausas on Sunday and I am pumped. It seems like forever since I have been in a workshop. I wish I got into Billy Merritt's group but cest la vie.

You know what sounds good, tomato soup.

Oh my, I saw someone that reminded me of my ex

So kiddies, Danny is still doing really well with his show. He had a bunch of comedy stars as well as Vicki. One star, Wendy Ho, was hysterical and she also reminded me of Deanna Gertsen. She wore an afro and she sang songs that were funny. They were songs just like Deanna used to make up. I called her late in the evening but she was busy and said she would call back, I fell asleep before she might have tried calling.

My Tivo recorded Fight of the Conchords, I didn't ask it to nor did I have anything that would indicate that I liked it. My Tivo is smart. I enjoyed it, I didn't think I would have watched it voluntarily. It was good. Kristen Schaal is on IMDB for two episodes but from the first show it seems she will be in lots more. I am taking screenshots from my Tivo to post to her Myspace. Maybe we will bump into each other in August since she looks like she gone till then.

Tomorrow Mini Britney is at Caroline's and I am very interesting in going. Wendy Ho is performing also, so it could prove to be funny.

Lastly I saw the movie Waiting and it was ok. The beginning wasn't good but it kind of came together in the middle.

It starting to rain now and the mosquitos are out. I don't like it but I have to put the OFF on.

I am tired

I was playing some online poker. I don't use money (usually). I was in an Aruba Tournament Freeroll for the 2007 Aruba Weekly SemiFinal. The game started at 11pm and I played pretty tight. I did have some all-in moments but usually I had a pair of Aces in the pocket. The top 50 positions, out of 3000, get invited to the 2007 Aruba Weekly SemiFinal. I placed 18th when they stopped the tourney at the last 50 people. Not bad huh?

The tourney ran for 4 hours and 30 minutes to get down to the final 50 people but I am glad I placed in the top 20. In a real tournament, that is a money position. It says the top 100 players will be invited to the final from the SemiFinal. There are 300 registered so far. If you place first in the Final, you are given the $8500 package to the Aruba Poker Championship and which is $5000 entry and $3000 travel expenses. It says on the Ultimate Bet FAQ: 2006 winner walked away over $700,000 richer. Cross those fingers, it would make a cool blog entry

I can't believe it, so close

I was playing some late night/early morning online poker. Playing really tight I was on a roll. After three hours of playing there was only 59 players left out of 1200 players or so. Unfortunately with a pair of pocket aces, I got forced in and I thought I had it and I placed 56th, just six spots away from advancing to the weekly finals. I went for some sleep, cursing as I lay there.

I thought about my ex-girlfriend Helen Calip today . I was watching some poker tournament and they were playing at Stateline, NV. I spent one New Years Eve with Helen in Lake Tahoe. We went to the ski resorts and casinos with her sister and sister's husband Juan. I have video of it somewhere in my collection I think. It was about 16 years ago so I has pretty young then. I did see Helen when I was living in Santa Monica. It was after Cindy moved out and I was traveling up to the Google HQ a lot. He went out to dinner and then drinks anither night. She was readying herself for the bar exam. I hope she made it.

Next week I am back in class and I am excited. I am in the same workshop as Summer and I am happy about that. She is performing at my pal Vicki's event on Saturday at the Time Out Lounge NY.

We got to boo and hiss

I have been playing poker online again, mostly free stuff. The funny thing is the legislature that our president has laid down. So I can't use paypal or my credit cards for poker online. Its really a stupid law because I would be taxed on winning if I did it in a regular casino. Why is the government paid twice, from the casino earnings and also from the gamblers. Either way I have been playing freerolls to get into a higher level satellite for the Aruba WPT.

Thursday night was cage match with the Golden Bullet Band and Omelet Vision. Billy Merritt and Michael Delaney were on Omelet Vision so you know they were bound to win. The votes were counted and the score was 68 to 37. Max, Alaina, Vicki and I went to the diner after the show and hung out. I went home after that.

Friday night I went to watch Moonshine with Fwand and Tantrum. It was fun and I took a bunch of pictures. We went to Grassroots Tavern after the show and I tried to keep the drinking to a minimum but I went to Revival after that.

This morning I awoke and looked at the clock, it wasn't the morning anymore. I planned on seeing Rebecca, Tim and Dave S. perform in their 401 class show at UCB. I got to the show just in time and they performed really good. I took some pictures and posted them to http://picasaweb.google.com/tommee.

We went to McManus after the show. It was a little uncomfortable because everyone sat at the massive table but there was no spot for me. Tim told me to get a chair and squeeze in. I went to the other table to ask for a chair and it wasn't available. I sat by myself in a booth. Tim was considerate and sat with me and had his food sent over. I went home and took a nap.

When I woke, I made a new shirt that says 'You Suck Pu Kang Kang'. I thought of a good heckle for the UCBW Revengance. I wrote largely on a piece of paper 'You Suck' and put it in a Con Edison bill return envelope. When I got to UCB I saw the members from Con Edison and told them about the heckle. When they were introduced and given the mic, I called them over and handed in the bill. It got a good laugh. They members of Chuck McMahon's A.S.S. came over and beat me up.

I was tired after the show and I didn't have the energy to go to McManus. I had friends at the bar but I felt sleep was better that being an awkward drunk. Tomorrow is a new Robot Chicken and I don't know if Ben Schwartz is one of the writers of this one but I will watch the credits. The is an Aruba poker Satellite at midnight tomorrow and Monday maybe Devin will want to play poker, I owe Kevin $10.

Wow, boob tube.

The immediate thought right now is Last Comic Standing. It aired tonight at 9pm, making me lazy and not interesting in going out. There was two shows I wanted to go to tonight and I feel bad because I could have given support. Orphan Tycoon had two shows tonight and they are great. Crystal was also performing with her sketch group at Upright Citizens Brigade Theater.

Getting back to Last Comic Standing, most shows on NBC do a thing between commercials where you text message to participate in a random contest. Well Last Comic Standing has this text thing, where you get to text in to see the punchline for a joke. It costs 99 cents a text, are you freakin' kidding me?

The show itself had some funny people on it. It also had some people that I know of on it but didn't make it like Jason Scarletti and Victor Varnado. I know that my friends Vicki and Canada Annee were trying to get on but Vicki didn't get in and Annee didn't make the cut I believe.

I have been watching a bunch of TV but I finally have seen all of The Office (US Version) episodes from season one and two. I have seen most of season three episodes but I can't wait till those DVDs come out. If you have Netflix and haven't tried Netflix Watch Now feature, do it. You can watch all the episodes of The Office.

Last thing I want to say about TV in this blog tonight is: Age of Love? Really? We are taking a guy in his thirties and seeing if he chooses a woman in her 20's or a woman in her 40's. Again, I am in the middle and have dated both, it has nothing to do with age. TV in the summer is stupid.

I checked the Upright Citizens Brigade website for new classes and saw they added new 501 classes but they both conflict with my schedule a but. Chris Gethard's class I am in Vegas for the first class and Anthony King's class conflicts with my Christina Gausas class. I think I will sign up with one of those but I will have to miss the first class of either. I will see if Rebecca and Dave are joining either class but I am leaning toward a Sunday class.

Fame, I want to live forever

So tommEE and Phlip got back together to do some improv. We teamed up to form the group Phlip n' Pickles. There was a guy named Kyle that was looking for a team to improv with so we added him to our team. We were the second to last team up and we did ok. It was fun. I ended up playing poker at Revival and losing 20 dollars.

I watched Fame today, I have seen it before but I was bored with my movie collection. It made me think how lucky I am to live in this city. It also reminded me of my foster sister Felicia Stoer. She used to video tape the TV show religiously. I put in You, Me and Dupree. It was ok and had funny moments but not worth a DVD rental, I would watch for it on HBO.

Weird thing, I went to Church's to get some chicken and on the way back I ran into Phlip on the train in the same car.

America Talent is a repeat, damn

I don't think Monday is the regular night for Americas Got Talent but they are repeating the two hour episode. Another chance to see David Hasslehoff freak out and Sharon Osborne walk out. On the plus side, there is a new episode of Hell's Kitchen.

Tonight I am heading to Roses Turn to see the show, On The Rocks, hosted by Danny and one of the good acts I like is Skip and Sparkle. Later on I don't know if I will just go home or head out. At 11pm is Crash Test at UCB featuring Billy Crystal. I would like to see Billy Crystal but I am going to perform with Phlip in a new group called Phlip n' Pickles. I am sure I will have an update later.

When I get home I will try to get my sleep schedule back in order. Tomorrow is Harold night and I think there is some good tv tomorrow.

Damn you Sopranos!

So if you missed it, Sopranos fucked me. I was a fan of the Sopranos during the first and second seasons. I started losing interest during the third season. So when the Sopranos finale was to play, I decided I would watch it for conversation. Well it was a little confusing especially because it started new plots and stuff. The ending was most troubling. I thought it was a prank or my cable went out. Tony was in a diner with his wife and son. Two people that looked like they were there to pop Tony. His daughter runs for the diner and blackout/credits. WTF? Thanks for playing a 65 minute prank.

Yesterday, was more fun than today. I went to see a ladies improv show at 2:30 pm to see Amy, Cece and Crystal perform. A funny thing was there was only five of us in the audience. It was a great show regardless and kept me entertained as well.

After the show I headed home for a 40 minute nap and then headed back to UCB to see Bridget perform with her 201 class. They were really good. There are a bunch of students in that class to watch for.

I waited for Bridget to come out of the theater. When she came out she introduced me to her sister and her friends. They are really nice people. We headed down to McManus and I had a couple of drinks with them. I left early because I needed to get a little map in again.

I woke up and walked to Gotham City Improv to see my friends perform in Orphan Tycoon and Moonshine. The show was awesome and I got some good pictures. We left the show and a bunch of us headed to McManus but it was packed so we ended up at Triple Crown. There I Saw Mark G., Shawn W., and Damon. I ended up hanging out with Curtis, Amy, Ben, Dave B., David S., and Melissa. I don't know what time we felt but it was close to last call.

Tomorrow Danny has his show at Roses Turn. I also posted new photos of the shows last night at http://picasaweb.google.com/tommee

My life is like a Pee Wee adventure movie sometimes.

I was walking down the street and old man passed me wearing boxing head gear. I didn't need to see weird stuff like that. I just got back from watching Christina Gausas' ladies only improv show. When I first got there, I was the only audience member. I saw several friends of mine that were performing, heading in but I was nervous that I would be the only one viewing the performance. It turned out fine, four other people arrived. The show was good and it was nice to see friends perform.

I have two more shows to see today. Bridget Fitzgerald peforms at 5:30 and then I will get a nap in. Later is Moonshine with Orphan Tycoon.

Yesterday was just crazy. I went to see Stepfathers and Death by Roo Roo. Stepfathers were crazy amazing last night. I was telling people that I think Billy has a friggin clock in his head. He knew exactly when to have the black out scene it seemed.

I went to drink at Revival last night after the show and that was a mistake. I should have just gone home.

I thought of Erika D'Amato today. We had a fight when we broke up and she called the cops because she thought I was suicidal. She was cute and had a dynamite body. I met her though my friend krakhead and her friend Mersal. Mersal was a cutie too and she would make out with me whenever Erika turned away. I think she enjoyed the thrill. I haven't heard from either of them for over 12 years and its better that way. I wouldn't know what to say.

Standing in the line thinking...

Ok, not the best title but Jane's Addiction was just on. Its humid today, it feels yucky. I am at the UCB Theater and I am waiting in line. Most highlights happened yesterday. I was at Cage Match last night and I saw friends like Amy, Megan, Crystal and Ben. They told me about the 501 class that I didn't get into. Its a shame I am missing out on another Billy class, he is an awesome teacher.

It was an audience lottery night to go against the other group. Most of us threw our names in the box to be chosen for the group. No one who I have had in class got picked. On the brighter side, the audience lottery team won. I think because Charlie isn't around the votes weren't posted online. I am very curious.

This morning I didn't sleep well so I got hooked into watching Over The Hedge. I do admit, it was pretty good and kept me entertained.

It is Julia's birthday today and I know she is celebrating it with Alaina, Max and others. I don't mind since she seems have problems with accepting my truce but it only shows I can be straightforward with people. I never shut her out of my life, I just refused to respond to her emails that were filled with attacks against my character. I did say Fuck You to her but I never launched mean character driven attacks against her. Oh well, I was a different person before I went to LA. I was an alcoholic, depressed, death fearing, broke individual. After I left, I earned a million dollars, worked for one of the most successful companies, traveled to Ireland, lived with a good looking girl, drove across country, spoke at four hacker/security cons, and moved into Chelsea. I don't see that I regressed to a lower level. I have awesome friends, ones that I still hang out with and I have lots more I met by doing comedy. Regardless, Happy Birthday Julia.

Tomorrow there is a show that Crystal, CeCe, and a bunch other ladies are performing. After that, Bridget is peforming with her class. I have practice, maybe, in between all of that. Later in the evening I am going to Gotham City Improv to see Orphan Tycoon perform with Moonshine.

Wow just saw Megan, Tao and Crystal, cool. I will talk to them after the show. Bye.

Arrive early for ringside seats

I received a myspace message from Julia saying she doesn't want to be my friend since she is trying to avoid drama. I don't understand fully , by not being my friend is also starting drama since we attend most of the same events. I wonder how this will play out.

Its weird because I love supporting my friends and watching their standup, sketch and improv shows. It is really nice when they think my advice is valuable. The downside to seeing so many shows is the volume of alcohol I end up drinking. Summer performed yesterday at Max at Mo Pitkins' Sadie's Lounge. I didn't have a good spot to take any pictures because the room was pretty small and I sat in an awkward position. Summer had some great material and made me laugh. I saw that she was going to stay for Rochelle's show. I stayed also. The show was awesome, mostly because of the hostess Rochelle.

I left Mo Pitkins and headed to the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. Jawnee Conroy was performing with Violet at School Night. I also got to see Jackie Clark with Sue Galloway and Jessica. Marcy performed and she makes me laugh.

The show ended and I waited outside to see if Jawnee was going for a beer. He didn't come out so I ended up running down to Revival for some libations. Danielle was working and Devin was hanging out. I ended up drinking and closing the bar, not a good idea.

When I woke, I decided to move my improv and sketch photos to http://picasaweb.google.com/tommee because I wanted to consolidate photos I am not in. I do enjoy taking photos of my friends shows but I don't want them mixed up with my personal pics. Friend were suggesting to me that I should start an improv/comedy reporting website. I know there is theapirary and improvoker, so I am not sure if another one is needed.

Since it is Thursday, its Cage Match time. Tonight is an audience lottery for one of the challenging teams. I am not sure if I want to compete since it might be hard to beat the other team. That and it might be a 25 minute train wreck since the team can contain people who haven't taken workshops or who have just started improv.

Saluting Christain Slater

I am watching Pump Up The Volume and I can't believe the film is 17 years old. I am watching it because Deanna mentioned it the last time we talked and we talked about the beauty of Samantha Mathis' breasts. I looked at a picture of Chhristan Slater today on IMDB and he looks pretty old. I feel old now.

I got to go to Harold Night last night. I was tired and I was curious whether or not I could hang in there for all the teams. I did and I saw some friends.

After I got home I watched America's Got Talent. Are they serious? First off, the premier episode was two hours long. I was annoyed. Sharon Osbourne walked off of the show during one voting of an act because Piers was being mean. Doesn't she know, America is trying to start a stereotype that englishmen are mean. Lastly, Hasslehoff, give me a break. Was he drunk on the show or has he just lost it mentally.

I caught up with Hell's Kitchen on Fox and it was ok for the first episode of the third season. It did get me hungry, so I microwaved a hotdog. It was good.

I signed up for another improv workshop, this time with Christina Gausas. Its an individual attention class and Ben W and Dave B have taken it already. They love it and recommended it saying I would enjoy it. There is no show associated withit bit I am sure I will be in a 501 workshop soon enough. I would hope to be in one soon but unfortunately I am heading to Vegas for a week in August and I will miss a class or two.

I do believe it is Julia's birthday this Friday. I sent her a myspace message today. I said I was burying my hachet, we haven't really talked in six months. Since we see each other at parties once in a while, it is awkward we aren't friends anymore.

Tonight since there is no LOST, I guess I will head out to see Summer perform some standup at Mo' Pitkins.

It was Liza!

Wow, I started my blog by saying that I wound up at Peter McManus looking for friends and especially this other girl I dig. She is someone I met in passing at UCB. She was in the grad show I went to see this afternoon with friends like Becca Jones, Tim and Phae. I just ran into her and I will get to that in a sec. The show was great and I sat next to Trish who I had class with.

I walked with them after the show to McManus and then caught Danny's show at Rose's Turn. Danny's show was awesome. He was a super host and had superb comics and cabaret acts. I had the two drink minimum with Brandon, Alaina and Jeremy. I the went downstairs with then and had two more sitting right next to Liza. That's right, she came out of a rental Escalade and sat with us. She didn't sing but it was a thrill sitting with her. She left, I paid my tab and I ended up here at McManus looking for friends.

Now that I got up to this point, I am not as happy I could be. Out of the corner of this empty bar, this girl I liked comes around the corner. I am feeling awkward as anything you could imagine. I tried talking to her with all the wrong words and it doesn't help I had a couple drinks. I am in total embarrassment mode right now. I feel like leaving but the other half is saying leave the bar right now.

30 minutes later the girl left without saying goodbye. Ouch.

All in all, I saw Danny's show and I gave the waitress a 25% tip and I was polite to Liza. If my karma doesn't cover me tonight it will catch up with me I hope.

Gloomy day, time for a movie

I never saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind so I just put it on. The other thing that is directly affecting me is the lack of a oven thermometer. I am cooking Ellio's Cheese Pizza and the whole pre-heating has me all inconvenienced when I don't know when its ready. I am also eating some bagel chips but they aren't that good. They aren't like the other ones I used to get in the small lunch bag size. Lastly I am out of cigarettes, ugh.

...

Higher Learning is on right now and Tyra Banks is really skinny in it. Tonight I am going to hit up UCB to watch a bunch of people from my practice group perform. Then I am going to Rose's to see Danny host a show. Chris Hall will performing and I haven't seen him in ages.

Weekend fun

Some mistakes, some great times, and a small break. All is all, it was a fun weekend.

On Friday I went to meet some of my hacker friends at McCormack's for dinner and drinks. When I got up there, no one else was there. I waited outside and Max showed up at 8:30. I told him I was heading to Under St Marks to watch some of my friends do improv. He said he would like to go and Alaina would like to join us. I told him unfortunately we would have to leave McCormack's at 10:00pm.

We ordered food and had a round of drinks but I saw on my watch that it was already late. The other ordered another round forgetting the time so I had to abandon them and leave for the theater.

I got to the bodega by the theater and bought two PBRs. I got in line at the theater and wondered if I would get a seat. I got inside and I setup my camera to get some pictures. Joe Loves Hobos performed first, then Tantrum and finally fwand but missing Shannon, Ellie, Sean and Gil.

After the show we headed to Grassroots Tavern. After n hour my friend Max met up with me. We had a couple of drinks but he had to run. About 2:30 the bar was pretty empty. This is where I made a bad decision by heading down to Revival.

While at Revival I drank more. There were some mighty colorful characters there. I saw the gothic like girl there with some guy and I think I might have made some awkward comments. The was some guy they ejected from the bar and people from Shades of Green fought with us because we just left him on the sidewalk. Later an ambulance showed up and took him away.

I did make a fool out of myself in the bar. The was a coworker of Greg in the bar who I told several time how good looking he was. He had a look about him, I was sure he was an actor or a model. I seemed like I was gay and hitting on him. I am not gay and nor did I hit on him.

I walked home and stopped at McDonalds. I ordered too much food and thought I was charming to the cashier girl. Yep, drunk. I walked home and voice recorded some key points and highlights to my evening.

I woke up to a screaming hangover. At 4:00PM I had my practice group at UCB. We had a greagt practice. The only issue was it was hot in the rooms on this humid of days. We broke a sweat just standing in the room. We also ran out of water in the vending machine.

After class we talked for a bit, I also saw people for one of my other workshops. Rebecca and Fayje from my practice group went to Triple Crown to get some drinks. After three drinks I was ready for a nice evening at home.

Just caught up on the Doc Martens ad campaign.

If you didn't see the adverts, they are not really moral but funny in a way:

Improv Withdrawal...

Thursday I wound up where I usually end up, at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. I t was Cage Match and I was excited to see a good bout. I decided I wasn't going be trouble for the wrestlers because it took up too much time and attention from the planned plot. Blackout performed first and had a great set. They performed a full Harold while in the dark. It was awesome. The wrestling match was between Charlie and Gavin as Cupcake as Charlie's brainwashed woman wrestler. I think it was too meta for the crowd, then Cakeface came out. Storyline is Cakeface now has to wrestle Pu Kang Kang.

After the wrestling, Derrick was up. They had a great set. I want to ask Dominick about checking the clock because it was funny how he did it right after their first scene. They usually bang out 20 or more scenes when they perform.

I got home and 10 minutes later I got an email. Ugh, like the song you can't always get what you want. I received an email from Shannon at UCB saying that Billy's 501 workshop was being cancelled due to low membership. I was disappointed because it was a short notice of one day and it is Billy's last 501 workshop until he leave for Los Angeles.

I talked with Deanna on the phone, she called me. She was telling me about her experiences in her new San Francisco habitat. I tested some material against her and told her about a show I want to pitch to the theaters. I told her about the improv workshop being canceled and she reminded me that it is show business and that is what happens.

I tried watching Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip that my TiVo recorded. It wasn't really good, it seems like forever that the show has been off the air. It took me a while just to figure out if it was a repeat or not and it just laid out huge plot lines like Danny being hooked on drugs and Tom's brother kidnapped in Iraq. A little much I think for a show that hasn't gone that far yet for a finale.

With the removal of Billy's workshop I might take a four week one with Christina. I have a practice group on Saturday and it frees me up to see some of my friends performances without conflict.

Next week is the New York BBQ festival and in tow months I will be in Vegas. Time to deposit some checks and maybe get another contract gig.
