From Gothamist: Can't Cuss at Cops

Big uh-oh for pottymouths! A judge has ruled that a man who yelled "Go f--- yourself!" at a cop can face disorderly conduct charges. The Post details the story of Ramon Morena, who had been arguing with a woman when a cop intervened. Morena yelled at the cop, so the cop gave him a summons that said the yelling "annoyed or alarmed the general public."

Morena's lawyer tried to use the First Amendment and say only the cop was annoyed, not the public, but Criminal Court Judge Richard Weinberg disagreed, saying that he would not "condone the heaping of verbal abuse upon a police officer regardless of the circumstances." Word to the wise: Go with "Go fug yourself!" But we imagine that even if Morena didn't curse when yelling at the cop, he'd be slapped with a summons - police don't like it when there are lots of bikes on the streets, so they probably don't liked being yelled at either.

We have to give it up to the Post for their first sentence in the story: "Screaming an anatomically impossible obscene suggestion at a police officer is against the law..." And we bet Morena's lawyer uses the Cheney defense when the case goes back to the judge.

Man's T-Shirt Prevents Him From Boarding Plane

An Arab human rights activist says he was prevented from boarding a plane at Kennedy International Airport while wearing a T-shirt that said "We will not be silent" in English and Arabic.

The incident happened Aug. 12 when Raed Jarrar was preparing to board a JetBlue flight from Kennedy to Oakland, Calif.
Four officials from JetBlue or from a government agency stopped him at the gate and told him he couldn't get on the plane wearing his shirt, Jarrar said in a telephone interview Wednesday.
One of the officials told him, "Going to an airport with a T-shirt in Arabic script is like going to a bank and wearing a T-shirt that says 'I'm a robber."' he said.

Jenny Dervin, a spokeswoman for JetBlue, acknowledged that the dispute occurred and said the airline was investigating it.
She noted that the incident occurred two days after British authorities announced that they had foiled a plot to blow up jetliners over the Atlantic.

New restrictions banning liquids and gels in carryon baggage went into effect at U.S. airports following the Aug. 10 announcement, but Dervin said there are no specific rules governing apparel. "Each situation is different," she said.

Jarrar, who directs the Iraq project for Global Exchange, a San Francisco-based human rights organization, said he asked what law he was breaking by wearing the shirt. The officials didn't answer, he said, but suggested that he turn the shirt inside out.
"I refused to take off my T-shirt and put it on inside out because it looks like a punishment for something I have not done," he said.

In the end, the officials gave Jarrar another shirt to put over the offending T-shirt and he put it on rather than miss his flight.
Once on the plane, Jarrar said he was forced to give up the seat he had booked weeks before near the front of the plane and issued a new boarding pass for a seat in the rear.

Dervin said it was unclear whether JetBlue, the federal Transportation Security Administration or the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which runs the airport, told Jarrar to remove his shirt.
Ann Davis, a spokeswoman for the TSA, said the agency was investigating to see whether its agents were involved. Port Authority spokesman Pasquale DiFulco said he was checking on the incident as well.
Jarrar, 28, is half Iraqi and half Palestinian and moved to the United States last year from Jordan, where he was studying.

He said he has filed a complaint with JetBlue and is considering legal action. He would like, at a minimum, for JetBlue to apologize.
"We Will Not Be Silent" is a slogan adopted by opponents of the war in Iraq and other conflicts in the Middle East.

"It's ironic," Jarrar said. "I was silenced by the state."

Where have you been tommEE?

I am once again in my car, arranging parking for the weekend. I didn't blog yesterday because of a long sleep and two meetings. Wait, someone moved their car, I am stealing their spot. I am inside now, in front of the TV, watching "Jingle all the Way".

Tuesday morning I went to go to a meeting that was rescheduled without my knowledge. I later went to the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater to watch Harold Night with Creep and Mailer Daemon. Both were great. It was announced that it was Mailer Daemon's last performance outside Cage Match. It was an awesome time and they received a standing ovation. I was going to go out afterwards but decided since I had a meeting the next day, I would go home.

Yesterday I hit the two meetings I had to attend. I went out after the meetings with co-workers to get some drinks. I rushed home so I would be able to see Hard n Phirm at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. I got home and then to the theater but learned the show for some reason, was not free for students. I didn't like the sound of that, so I declined to go. I ended up going to Revival and I saw Melanie and Danielle there. I got to catch up with Danielle and was interested to see when we could hang out. Her boyfriend is heading on a trip out to Greece for a long time so she wanted to spend the remaining time with him and I could totally understand. I will get time with her next week. I asked what she was doing next week, and she said she was heading up to Martha's Vineyard and staying with Deanna. I siad if I didn't have work, I would have gone up with her but unfortunately I do have a big project for the 5th to the 9th. Oh well. I had several drinks, and I new I couldn't close out the bar. I ended up at home about 3am. Today I have to see if me and my class can get rehearsal time at the school.

Late night blog, starring tommEE pickles

I am at home catching up on things I haven't been able to do. I
started the day with a meeting that was planned but 30 minutes waiting
and I found out the meeting was changed. That had me in a mood. I then
bought some printer ink and played with my printer. I either need a
new printer or figure out how to clean this one because I just bought
the new ink.

Last night I had my last cleass under Charlie Todd and we have our
performance coming up on September 9th. After class Vik, Charlie,
Chris, Danny, Becca, Brandon, Josiah, Tim and Phlip went for a drink
at Molly Wee's. It was great that we all got to sit as a class for one
more drink. The next time we see each other, we will be with friends
and family, so it will be hard to have a drink without isolating
company.

I start classes again on September 17 and I know that alot of my class
is trying to get in on that date also. So far 3 of us have succeeded.

Tonight I plan on seeing the Harold night performances Creep and
Mailer Daemon. I then might go out for a drink, I do not know if that
is wise or not. Tomorrow I have a meeting at 1:30pm and then later
another meeting. I will see Hard n Phirm tomorrow night. Thursday is
Cage Match and then I have no idea what to do for the weekend, anyone
want to go to Atlantic City?

And now the week begins...

I hate Mondays say Bob Geldolf, but so do I. I'm currently sitting in my car watching "Never-ending Story", waiting for the parking restrictions to end. I don't plan on going to work today but I have a meeting tomorrow. I saw there was some interesting stuff going on this weekend about finding the truth about what happened on 9/11/01. I also have my performance on September 9th at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. Tonight I have my last class at the UCB and I will probably have a drink with my classmates and coodinate when we will have class together again. Tomorrow I wish to see Creep and Mailer Daemon perform for Harold night, I asked Melanie if she would like to go. Wednesday a group called Hard 'n' Phirm are playing at 8pm, they are hillarious. Thursday is of course, Cage Match, where Mailer Daemon will be defending their title. Friday is 2600, I don't attend but its been a month since I have seen Bobcat and BillyGoto. This weekend is Memorial Day weekend so I do not know if I will hit more shows or not. I do have to remember to call Danielle to see if she would like to accompany me. I know she is going to spend some time up in Martha's Vineyard and stay with Deanna, starting Thursday. I hope that works out for her. I was going to catch a drink with Laura but she has stuff going on because of the VMAs.

So unproductive

I am slacking here on my couch. I switched back to my T-Mobile MDA. The problem is that it is difficult to blog with T9 input. I put another screen protector on and now I am blogging just fine.

Last night, I saw Rueben Williams with Max, Alaina and Christina. It was extremely funny as usual. I then stayed for Cracked Out. Cracked Out had more of a variety show. They hosted Mc Chris, True Dog, Baby Rapper, Greasy Ballzoni and the funny Hard N' Phirm. Hard N' Phirm was very funny. I was actually crying because I was laughing so hard. I will go see Hard N' Phirm on Wednesday.

Today the only plans I have is to buy the newspaper and slack. I don't think I am going to the office tomorrow but I might go to a meeting out in Jersey.

TV and games

I am a fan of many TV shows. LOST is one of the many but I also like 24. I bought the playstation game 24. I actually liked it. The only complaint I have is that it came to an end. The story was very good and the acting was also good. I dont know where to go on from here. I don't have any games in mind nor have I browsed a game section since I bought 24.

Time for a nap?

Last night was fun. I went to dinner with Max and Alaina. We ate at Frutti di Mare and it was good flight as usual. We had a couple of bottles of wine. We then walked uptown and wound up at Revival. We saw Danielle, Devin, and Alex there. Then later i walked to Tracy J's.

Tonight I plan on seeing a couple shows.

Ug

Slacking on the couch, playing with a different phone. Makes me appreciate my other phone. Going to order chinese food.

The weekend starts now

I didn't go to the office today and I am glad I didn't. I woke up with a hangover and I don't think I would have been too productive. Last night I went out at 11pm to go meet up with Amy at UCB theater for Cage Match. It was a good event and Mailer Daemon won for the 3rd week in a row. Amy didn't drink and when I asked her if she wanted to go out after the show, she declined. I then decided that she wouldn't rain on my parade and went down to Revival. Melanie was bartending and I also saw Alex, Dave, and Devin. I think I was there until 2am.

I woke up this morning at 8:45am and remembered I had to move my car. I fell back asleep and the is a ticket on my car now. Alaina emailed me earlier about dinner and I suggested Frutti di Mare but I haven't heard back yet. Other than that, I have no plans.

I am weird

I have been listening to a lot of the band Styx. Renegade is probably the best song but today I did stumble apon a video I wanted to share with all of you.

I miss the beach home and weather

Just a little bored and a little home sick for the Santa Monica home. I will be in San Diego soon. The end of September. I will also be in Las Vegas for October 12th - 15th for Bink's birthday and a new tatoo. We will be seeing Insane Clown Posse too then.

A quickie

I am on the improv mailing list and the email today said the last
scene was updated on the website. It was known as Slo-Mo Home Depot
and can be found at
http://www.improveverywhere.com/mission_view.php?mission_id=59. Take
some time and read the story and check out the videos. It will break
up the slow-mo pace of this Thursday.

Waking up is hard to do

Last night I got some food from the restaurant Lasagna. I do have to report the lasagna is huge. I couldn't even eat half of it. Which reminds me, I should call Jen for dinner soon. I received a call from my ex and best friend Rebecca. She said she was at the mariott in Times Square and I could meet her for a drink there. I got there about 9:30pm and chatted a lot. I think she was getting tired so we parted ways and I got home just after 11pm.

For some reason I am tired. I passed out during Jimmy Kimmel so I know I was sleeping before 1am. I woke up about 8am and felt very tired. I am heading into work right now and the commute sucks. Two express trains past by my stop with no local service for a very long time. I have to catch up with my supervisor before he goes on vacation.

Tonight I have plans to go to Cage Match with Max and Alaina. I am also supposed to see Amy there too. Friday doesn't hold plans as of yet. Now I am transfering trains, so all is good.

Hump day!

Halfway through the week people. I chose to work from home today. I need to clean this house anyway.

Yesterday was ok. Went to the office to discuss a document I am working on. I met up with Rabbit for lunch at McDonalds and we caught up for a bit. When I got home, they were cleaning up the lights and sound from the movie they were shooting. Craft Services was still open but I was in work clothes so it would be hard to crash.

After work I had arrangements to see Josiah perform at Caroline's. There were about 6 comics and Josiah performed near the end. In my opinion, he did better than the headliners.

After the show, I headed to Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. It was Harold night with groups Kill Your Darlings and Mailer Daemon. Both groups were awesome. Kill Your Darlings did their invocation different but still good.

Tonight I get to see my best friend Rebecca. She is in town for business and has a business dinner meeting. I wish I could have had dinner with her but it is nice to see her anyway, I haven't seen her since April. Now lets clean my house.

Damn movie makers

Hey everyone, last night was fun. I went to work in the morning and it was ok. I have a project coming up that will envolve social engineering and a physical thing too. Yes, like sneakers. I went to class after that and it was the second to last class of my current level. I did some great monologues and so ok scenes. Later we went to Molly Wee's for after class drinks. Charlie showed up along with Phlip, Becca, Chris, Danny, Josiah, and Tim. We exchanged information and discussed personal information that generally doesn't come up in class.

This morning, I has to move the car. The problem is they are filming 'American Gangster' in front of my house. It has turned parking into a bad dream and I fear what the night holds for getting in and out of my apartment. Tonight I am going to see Josiah perform at Caroline's. I think I will at Danny there but I am not sure if anyone else from my class confirmed.

Tomorrow my ex-girlfriend and best friend Rebecca will be here on business. We are supposed to meet up for a drink. That's all that's on the top of my head. Lets hope I don't get into a fight with Denzel or RZA.

Chinese or Mexican

I am laying on my couch watching "The Hills Have Eyes". It's ok but definitely has the "Texas Chainsaw Masacre" feel. I figured I would enjoy it a bunch since I have spent time in the desert, like camping in Landers California. Max was having a bbq but I have to be at Kinkos at 8pm to pick up proofs of my business cards. Later I will see a show at Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. I did get some stuff done today. I got my business cards submitted to Kinkos. I then went to David Z and bought two pairs of sneakers.

Tomorrow Amy has her graduation show at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater at noon. My graduation show isn't until September 9th.

I guess I am trying to decide what to have for dinner and I think I have decided on mexican.

Lazy night

I am currently watching "Anna Nicole Smith: Exposed" on Showtime and I can truly say that it is horrible. Anna is better now that she is all drugged up. This film is supposed to be a sexy tease but after seeing so many boob job scars and bad acting, I wouldn't recommend this to prisoners.

I was supposed to see Death by Roo Roo tonight but my nap got in the way. I was asked by Max if I wanted to see The Illusionist at the Angelika but I looked at the trailer and it looked to dramatic for me.

Earlier today I went to Amy's apartment and helped her out with some computer issues. I shared some pictures and stories with her. She showed me that she could juggle. She then had work so we took the train back to the city and said we would see each other in class on Monday.

Speaking about class, I have 2 more left and I am planning on taking level 2. I don't know if I am definitely going to take the Sunday class or not, still playing it by ear. Having a Sunday class would change my Saturday night schedule a bit.

So I have an agenda for the morning: new sneakers, UCB, business cards. Tonight I will just take it easy. I have some vodka here and I can run down to the store for some 7up. Later.

In Las Vegas, sleeping near defecation becomes a crime

This made me laugh, and I saw it on CNET

There's a lot you can get away with in Las Vegas, but sleeping within 500 feet of feces or urine is not one of them.
City officials have passed an ordinance making it illegal to knowingly set up sleeping quarters within 500 feet of feces or urine, according to an AP story in the Reno Gazette Journal (a paper I delivered as a lad.). If the waste products are in a proper receptacle (i.e. a toilet) it's not illegal so you won't get busted for forgetting to flush.
City Attorney Brad Jerbic said the city is looking at a revised version that would shorten the distance between the sleeper and the offending deposit

TGIF

I am sitting in my car waiting for parking, watching Blade Runner. I went to Upright Citizens Brigade Theater last night with Max, Alaina and Christine. It was Cage Match night and it was Death League Tea Party vs. Mailer Daemon. Mailer Daemon won by a vote of 62 to 30. I went to Revival after that and had a couple of drinks in tme company of Melanie, Ben, and Kevin. I walked home and it led me here.

Today I am stopping over Amy's apartment to fix her wireless issues. Tonight I don't know what I am doing just yet. I did have my laundry picked up, for those who are keeping score.

Yahoo fixes Web mail bug

Web giant Yahoo has fixed a security flaw in its Yahoo Mail service that exposed user accounts to cyberattacks.
The flaw involves how Yahoo Mail handles attachments and was discovered in early August by Israeli security company Avnet, according to various online news reports. An attacker could hijack a user's account after a malicious attachment was opened, these reports said.
"Online security issues are taken very seriously at Yahoo. We developed a fix for this bug and deployed it last week," a Yahoo representative said Thursday.
Because Yahoo Mail is a hosted service, users don't have to take any action to be protected against potential attacks that exploit the flaw, the representative said. "There were no documented cases of this vulnerability being exploited prior to our fix being released," the representative said.
The flaw could let an attacker craft an HTML attachment to an e-mail and bypass Yahoo Mail's security filter to execute malicious JavaScript code, according to an IDG News Service report Thursday.

Federal judge orders halt to NSA spy program. Warrantless surveillance program authorized by Bush administration is ruled unconstitutional and must cease immediately.

Google offers to track your music habits
Blog: Google is listening; but only if you want it to.The search giant is now offering to track the music you listen to on your computer... Er why? Uh itunes.

Almost through the week

Good Morning, I slept for a long time again. I was thinking about going to a show but I was so drained. I am almost done with my penetration test and that's good news. I am going to see Cage Match with Max and Alaina tonight which is always fun. I am hungry again this morning so I will hunt down my breakfast burritos.

Things in the news today. Jon Benet Ramsey killer found? I don't believe he did it, he probably wanted to be extradited to Colorado. YouTube is trying to collect all music videos. The will have free access to them also.

I have to make reservations for the show tonight, get a hold of Aruba, get laundry done, go to a meeting about a past wireless survey, and get this house clean. Lets see how the day goes.

Picasa for Linux

Picasa was release by Google Labs for Linux distributions but it's not
totally Linux, as you can see below, it was just adapted to use wine.
Not my idea solution. Might as well by a Mac.

Picasa is free photo software from Google. This version is Linux
compatible. Picasa won't delete your pictures or put them online
without your permission.

Total size: 24MB. Picasa software (9MB), Wine (12MB) and Gecko engine (3MB).

What a sleep

I was supposed to go to Upright Citizens Brigade Theater last night but I was so tired after work I slept right after I got home and didn't get up until this morning. I went to work this morning, going to Mc Donalds for breakfast burritos, only to find they don't open till 11am. Now that I am looking http://delivery.com Doesn't carry them either. Lets say the day has started with an "Oi Vey"

Hee hee, can't wait to play with this

CNET posted this:
Google Talk, which is celebrating its first birthday with an upgrade, will let people easily transfer files and leave other people voice mail beginning Wednesday.

WTF happened just to email?

Ouch. It feels like morning

Last night I finished the tasks for the day of my wireless penetration test and I forgot that I had improv class that night. I took a 20 minute nap and rushed to class. I do have to say it was a good class. We has two students in my class that were making up a class. They both had a lot of energy and both scenes I did with them seemed to flow. After class, most of us ended up at a local bar, where we swapped stories. After four drinks I was remembering that some worker put cones near and around my car where it was parked. The cones all were labled `no parking`, even though this morning, parking rules are suspended due to the `feast of assumption` holiday. Well, I moved the car just in case but I feel cheated. I am back at the wireless penetration test today and I have a tinge of a headache.

Morning notes

Woke up at 2:30am since my body has been partying it up too much. I did watch the wiggles this morning and it put me in a better mood. Two things I blogged about on the moloch.org site were the TSA has changed the carry on items yet again and the RFID passports are being issued today. I find it very shocking after the RFID information shared at defcon and black hat.

Today I have a wireless penetration test to accomplish. I also have to send a deposit to secure Phil Shane for my birthday party. I have to start looking into airline tickets for Vegas for Bink's birthday and to see ICP with el_jefe. Time to shower. end

Hangover Movie Day

After waking up this morning with a hangover I decided to watch a movie. Todays selection was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. People have told me that the trick to watch this movie is to forget about Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and think of this as a fresh film. Doing my best I started the movie. I had to fast forward through a lot of the Oompa Loompa singing scenes because they weren't funny but seriously annoying. The acting was good but character development was weak. Charlie is supposed to be poor with a hole in the roof and cabbage soup for dinner but the family has a color TV (which they could have sold for food). He also squawks at Violet for putting the gum behind her ear instead of starting a new piece, this is wierd for a poor boy to think about waste.

The movie also was too busy with a back story about how Wonka grew up. We didn't really need to know why he was wierd. We accept someone like that to be weird. We also didn't need to see scenes how he aquired the oompa loompas. We didn't see how he transported them so we didn't need a scene about accquiring them. If we needed back stories, it would have been more important to see how Wonka's father trasported a 3 story brownstone building from a city block to a snow covered tundra.

I hated this movie and I couldn't recommend it to anyonre. I was impressed with Depp but as for the rest of the production, it was depressing.

Oh my god google, you try too hard

Happended apon Google Spreadsheets today. The url is
http://www.google.com/googlespreadsheets/tour1.html and I really don't
know why they are now trying to be the source for everything. I
already have my speadsheets on my computer. If it's really important I
will back it up to my usb flash. If google keeps on creating stuff
people don't use it will lead to a layoff one of these days. Haven't
they seen what happened to dot-com businesses.

Birthdaycon planning

Well I started planning the Birthdaycon events again. All the information is listed here or http://birthdaycon.com. I started the booking for Phil Shane again and I am petty sure we will do it again at the Dive Bar. You wonder why would I do it in Vegas? Well I rather spend time in Vegas in January instead of somewhere like New York or San Fran.

The festivities should include drinking, gambling, porn and electronics. The one problem for CES fans is they moved the convention from the weekend to the middle of the week. AVN is still on the weekend, so we will probably shoot video on that Saturday.

Time to play catchup.

Wow, it's been a hell of a week. I went back to vegas last week. I met up with El_Jefe and drank and drank. He let me crash in his room and then I woke up with a 100° fever or so. I went back to my room and slept one day but felt like crap the whole week. I had to speak to an audience of several thousand people on Saturday morning and it was fun in a way. I was way hungover. There are is a picture here and a short video of me having the crowd doing the wave.

So I am back home and back at work. I went to see a couple shows this week. One of my favorite I got to see with Max and Alaina, Cage Match. It's led by my teacher Charlie Todd and it mixes Professional Wrestling and Improv comedy. Last night I went and saw Death by Roo Roo and they were great. Tonight is Mc Chris and tomorrow is Assscat.

My Tivo just recorded Fools Rush In, and I am hoping it did that because of the Vegas keywords. TNT is just playing a bunch of crap today since it was that and now its playing Boat Trip with Cuba Gooding and Horation Sanz. Ok gotta change the channel, see ya.
